[ When the video begins, it's just flowers. A whole room full of flowers. And somewhere in there, is Raina who is wearing floral print which is pretty much like camouflage in this room. And it's not just this room, either. Raina had filled her entire apartment with flowers. The things one does when they're trying to distract themselves from sadness. ]

With Valentine's Day just around the corner, I thought I'd devote my time to making up some fresh bouquets.

[ She gestures at just some of those fresh bouquets before turning the camera toward the kitchen to show....even more flowers. It's like she's a hoarder. Or if not a hoarder, then definitely obsessed! There are a freakishly large number of flowers. ]

I can make any sort of flower, any color you want. [ The camera is back on her and she holds out her palm to display her ability. A warm pink glow starts at the center of her skin before a light white and gold rose grows from it, fully formed. Raina picks it up and adds it to a bouquet she's currently working on, tying it together with a pretty, gold ribbon. ] And if you can get me a good enough description, I can even make flowers that you might find in your own worlds and not here. Unfortunately, you won't be able to plant them and grow them in this world. But I could keep them alive for you.

[ She sets the bouquet aside and glances toward the camera, plastering on the best smile she can muster -- but even she can't hide the tinges of her depression. ]

So, I'm offering customized bouquets starting at five dollars and going up from there depending on how complicated or elaborate you want them. All proceeds will go toward ImPort Cellular Research, so you're donating to a good cause.

[ And then, maybe a bit more of a pointed comment. ]

It's always good to show the ones you care about how much you care every now and then. Our time together in this world can be so fleeting.

[So many flowers. It's as if Guadosalam has come in its entirety to this world. But more intriguing still is Raina's offer. He arranges flowers himself now, thanks to the government's kind occupational placement. But the flowers he works with are native only to this world and so very...mundane.]

I've an interest in purchasing a bouquet, but that is not all. I cannot help wondering...would it be possible for you to fashion a plant inspired by a living creature? Not one from this world, of course, but nevertheless easily described in as much detail as you might require.

I've never attempted something like that before, but I'm certainly up for the task. My abilities aren't limited to only flowers. I can work with vines, trees, or any other plant -- if that would help with the design.

I'm afraid I don't have any need for flowers but I'd love to learn more about cellular research in the first place—though, I'm afraid you might need to take it slowly. My world was woefully behind compared to this time.

Well, I could explain it. Or I could simply give you a tour of the facility. We're open to any imPort coming by and learning more. They are the lifeblood of our research.

If there's a limit, I haven't found it yet. Flowers are a relatively low expenditure of energy. I do get a little weak when I play around with larger plants.

You have a special someone in your life, Mr. Stark? Or is this for a special many someones?

[ A beat. ]

I've been better, but I'll live. Trouble in paradise as the saying goes. I wouldn't want to bore you with that sort of thing.

[ Especially since Mitch is pretty allergic to romance. ]

[ john's reply comes a later, once he's done a little research. which was mostly just texting the person who organised his wedding and has an entire mind palace full of irrelevant information, like flower names. the last bit of the video hit close to home but he's composed now. ]

I'd like a bouquet, Raina. There's, er, quite a lot of them but money isn't an issue.

Of course, John. You'd like a bouquet as in only one? Or am I able to interest you in more?

What is the ImPort Cellular Research?

An organization in De Chima set up to study, well, us. We look into our cells and examine abnormalities and try to isolate what components we all have in common. Of course, we're working on much older samples and a lot of my own. But you're free to come by and see things for yourself if you're interested. I always like to have imPorts come in and see the facility for themselves.

I don't really have much use for flowers, but ImPort Cellular Research sounds like an interesting cause. What can you tell me about it?

I've been working with the company for nearly two years now. Like the name implies, we've been studying the cells of imPorts to isolate the differences and similarities between them. Our hope is to one day understand exactly how our physiology has changed coming through the porter and exactly where our powers and abilities come from on a cellular level. And with any luck, be able to replicate it in the medical field. For example, finding a way to replicate the regenerative abilities of some imPorts in order to allow natives the ability to walk again after a paralysis or cure them of some otherwise incurable disease.

I am. Such lovely flowers, aren't they? They're one of my favorites.
