They're actually making texting kind of hard, but it's better than video or audio right now. He's not letting this freak show go on display in front of the entire network. [ Kyle accepts the compliment in silence. It certainly could be worse, but several of the administrators had winced while they processed him through a second time. Everything he is hurts people these days, just like his father said it would. ]

Like an animal. [ The groan that comes after is so damn dramatic you'd think Kyle had been a theater major all his life. ]

[ Yeah, no shit. Even his own friends started looking at him differently as soon as these new features sprouted from him. They wouldn't shun him, but it's enough of a change to hurt. Kyle can't imagine what strangers will do to him.

With a defeated slump he sits down on the couch, hands restlessly rubbing at the long ears covered under his knit beanie. Then, suddenly, his phone vibrates and he checks the message. ]

Oh God, Persephone's here. Hang on...

[ He's got to go open his window, one sec. ]

[Right on time, not that Inanna knew she was coming. It was just very good odds.]

[Inanna shoots a vaguely confused look at him.]

Is that not the legal age in the states...?

[ Kyle's look is just as confused, though it's a little hard to tell now that he has no irises. ]

It's twenty-one. Right?

[ He opens his mouth to complain, but nothing comes out. It's hard to argue this logic, even if it is still against the law. But he's going to try. ]

[ Kyle goes, but he looks miserably pathetic the entire way. Plopping down beside Persephone, he keeps his head down staring at his lap. ]

Yeah. He... gave me new powers. I can feel how people around me feel, like their emotions. And I... [ Well, the other "gift" is rather embarrassing to talk about, so he simple stops and shakes his head. ]

[ An awfully embarrassed groan comes out of Kyle. It would be nice if he could run his hands up and down his face, but the claws and horns make it too difficult now. ]

There's... a hunger in me.

Look, it'll be OK. I get why you're freaked out, but it doesn't have to be a big deal. And you're definitely not the first one with that problem, either. I've been helping out Jack with it too, and the dogs sometimes.
