Hah, it's generally the same where I'm from. We're a pretty polarized nation, but sometimes -- if someone's good enough -- you can do it without the party backing.

That's fair, we do, and that's a hard thing to find most of the time. That's one of the reasons that I ran. The rest being that I wanted to make a difference. I like to think it helped.

Well, when I ran the City, I managed to keep us above water despite seeing parts of the City flat out destroyed on a regular basis. Helped manage things through a Skrull incident -- which believe me, is tough. I wouldn't say what I did in the City was game-breaking, but... if you know anything about civics, balancing a budget that's strained from emergencies, evacuations, and destruction, it's a hell of a job.

Oh, and I legalized gay marriage, where I'm from.
