What are some of your favorite food things? Stuff you would find at a bakery. Bonus points if you can actually send me a recipe.

[She might be ( -- is -- ) looking for ideas for new stuff to make and offer at her bakery. Pretty much 90% of stuff there is of the Eastern-ish European variety, but she does have a smaller selection of other things. Of that smaller selection, she could use more ideas.]

...you know, you may have asked one of the hardest questions I've ever heard. [Repeating to herself.] What is my favorite food thing found in a bakery?

[Because there's way too many new treats that an 18th century princess can name. Especially one that loves food as much as she does. She'll eat anything with sugar in it.]

What kind of baked ideas are you looking for? Are you looking for anything in particular? I can give you a whole list based on it.

Most of what I have is of the Eastern-ish European variety, so, anything different just to add more contrast would be great. I'm not going to be too picky here aside from that.

Okay, then, let's see. I know I've had all types of different style of desserts before. It'll be hard to choose, but if you're looking for something different and creative, then.

Have you ever heard of "corn-on-the-cob" style cupcakes? But, if you're looking for something more European, then I would recommend the German fried egg cake!

I remember baking those upon reading about it on the web. The pictures really got me curious to try them since they look a lot like what they're named after.

It is pretty hard to choose. [ said with a small smile. she knows she asked a hard question. ]

I had not heard of them, but those corn on the cob ones look pretty cute! Designs like that are always fun. So, I might have to try those first, thanks.

[A very hard one! Considering there was a limitless choices of food in this world compare to her own. Nike couldn't help beam a little at the thought of someone else baking anything.]

They are! I think it's really eye-catching. It may be a fun treat for your customers to notice when they're having trouble deciding on desserts.

[At the very least, she would buy the item that looks most interesting whenever feeling indecisive.]

Those are ready to go, now. [The filling apparently had a weird personal thing against her because the first couple times, it didn't want to cooperate. She had to stubborn it into bending to her work.]

Heh, thanks, sometimes I try -- [even more occasionally, it actually works; her life here has largely been a series of 'fake it til you make it', which honestly is surprising it hasn't blown up in her face horribly yet over the past nearly-fourteen-months that she's been here] -- hopefully these won't be ones that are gross. And yes, we are! [she has needed said lessons for years.] Thanks for offering, are you sure? [about the paying part she means.]

I like breakfast foods. For baked goods - croissants, cinnamon buns, scones, doughnuts, muffins.

I also like things I didn't have back when I was living in Minnesota, like mooncakes, kahi, etc.

Ehh not really. Mostly need a change of stuff; I'm getting a bit bored of current things. The circle of baking life or something like that.

Then you'd have the same answer as a couple of other someone elses I knew once or twice. [Said with a short amused laugh. Both versions of her brother -- Pietro back home, and Peter here. #justspeedsterthings. It's also funny 'cause she obviously doesn't know that's Barry's thing too.]

It's not a wrong answer, though.

But is it a good one? [ he looks at her pointedly, lips curved up in amusement and brows raised in an attempt to appear serious. ]

I've been told once or twice that it isn't. I mean, does it really meet your criteria? It's kind of broad.

[ meet barry allen who criticises his own answers. ]

It's a good answer in that it's legitimate and enthusiastic, yes. [Barry pls.] But it is broad for the specific question, yes.

Okay, okay. [ he raises his hands, then folds his fingers into his palm save for his index. pressing it against his chin, he pretends to mull his answer over. ] A bakery food ... [ he mumbles, ] Bakery, bakery ...

[ his hand falls away and he clicks his fingers. ] Okay! I've got it! A meat pie. A really big meat pie, with ketchup. Lots and lots of ketchup.

[divaricate]

Now you might be talking about a sliding scale of ketchup. Just enough ketchup, or so much ketchup that it's like those cupcakes with sixteen centimeters of icing on top and it's most of the bite?

[accelerate]

[ he closes one eye, scrunching up his face. despite the light tone of the conversation, he tries to go for something obviously serious. ] I'm going to be super honest with you here — I'm not too sure if that's a bad thing.

The icing is sometimes the best thing about the cupcake. Unless you disagree — and if you do, there's a good chance there's no help for you, because anyone who thinks icing isn't the best part of the cupcake is cray cray.

[divaricate]

Uh, no, you are correct; the icing is totally the best part of a cupcake. [you speak her language, Barry.] Why else would that much icing be on it? Worth every calorie and sugar rush and-slash-or sick feeling after.

Does this mean I've sort of answered your question?

[ part of her question was to provide a recipe. cooking has never quite been his strong suit when he ends up eating half the ingredients as he prepares his meal. ]

I don't really know how to bake a cupcake — I mean, I do, of course I do, but I don't have the skill of being patient enough not to eat all the icing as the cupcake bakes — but I know where to find good ones in Heropa.

Pizza and potstickers! Uh. Well, you did ask about favourite food things.

( Tapping her chin, she lights up. )

Cinnamon buns. That's what I love from a bakery. Bonus points if they're fresh out of the oven!

[divaricate]

Mmm yes. It's my personal belief that cinnamon buns are only good fresh out of the oven. Like, honestly, can that warm doughy melty cinnamon be topped? [crap now she really wants fresh cinnamon buns.]

[clobbers]

No! No, it really can't. The icing is only good when the buns are right out of the oven, too. The sugary goodness of it is literally the icing on the... bun.

Are you making any? If you are, I'm coming over!

I can! [Not counting the fact that her job is literally making food for people, she is also used to doing it in her non-work life as well. Also, what better way to maybe make new friends?]

I can send you the address? [if kara is serious, so is wanda.]

Fantastic! ( At the rate she eats, she's about due for another meal anyhow. But if she can make a new friend at the same time? She's going to go for it! )

( But she doesn't forget to bring some money with her, to make it worth Wanda's trouble. When all is said and done, it takes her what seems like no time at all to fly up there and change. She's knocking on the door of the attached address, grinning broadly. )
