[The video turns on, showing Sam Winchester. Hair a bit shorter than the previous one, looking a few years younger, wearing a green, light jacket and a blue and white check shirt.]

[He looks surprised. And a little lost.]

I've got to say. I expected Hell to look a lot less metropolitan. [He holds up a hand.] I know, I know. I read the packet. Not Hell, just Florida. Though I'm pretty sure more than a few people back home would have said that there wasn't much of a difference.

[The smile he gives his own joke is wan. Yeah, he knows it's a bad one. It's what he's got for the moment.] I didn't see it in the file, but are you here, too, Dean? Not sure if I should hope for that or not, actually. But if I'm hallucinating, I'm pretty sure I'd drag him in, too.

[He pauses a moment, considering, before adding--] If this ISN'T a hallucination, I suppose I should introduce myself. Sam Winchester. Uh...pleasure to be here, I suppose.

No. I've heard they're both around here, but I haven't seen them yet.

Well Cassie at least should be glad to hear from you.

And your brother inevitably but, I don't care much for him.

Yeah, well, that's not uncommon among angels, either.

[At least, he's pretty certain that anybody close enough to call Castiel 'Cassie' is probably an angel. Of sorts.]

Cas doesn't exactly have a lot of friends.

[So, no, it doesn't take a genius, Balthazar.]

He never did, but he's one of mine.

Just saying. It's not too hard to draw a bead on what race a friend of Cas's would be. And I'm glad that he's a friend of yours. He needs more friends.

[At least here. Since, last Sam remembers back home, Castiel is dead.]

[That actually draws a sincere smile from Balthazar's face.]

I'm not sure he could handle that.

Teasing aside, you know he's here, yes?

I'd heard. I haven't heard from him yet, though. I doubt that'll take long, really.
