[ the feed flickers on to the image of a young girl, sporting her trademark red bandanna. unlike may's usual chipper attitude, her expression at the moment looks a bit uncertain and serious. ]

So... I have a question for you guys. You know Archie, right? The big buff Pokémon Trainer that wears wetsuits a lot? Talks like a pirate?

[ she'll even hold up a drawing to the feed for a visual - it's a bit of a simple, cartoonish sketch (she's 12, cut her some slack), but the blue bandanna, cross-shaped face shadow and shapely beard should be enough to give the right idea to who she's describing. ]

I kind of wanted to know if he's been... "up to" stuff here - like, crime stuff. I don't think you should be worried - I mean, he's a good guy! He just has a really extreme way of going at things, you know? And sometimes those extremes end up being super illegal.

[ she wants to trust his word that he's reformed, but there's a lingering worry in the back of her mind. some of the people here must have been talking to him since before she showed up, and she wants their honest observations to put her . ]

I just wanna know if he's behaving himself like he promised me back home. You guys HAVE to tell me, okay? I think I'm kind of responsible for him at this point. [ she reaches to click the feed off, but before she does- ] And don't tell him I asked!

[ yes, she's basically his tiny parole officer. please report any and all suspicious activity. ]

[The longest sigh.] It's Russian for 'miss' or 'ma'am'.

He has been nothing but kind to me, and has ignored the common prejudices held here against Russians. We even played with his Muk, sort of. Trust me, he's been fine.

Oh! You don't have to call me that, though. Just "May" is fine!

[ and just as quickly as her frown appeared, it disappears and makes way for a smile. ]

I'm really glad to hear that, seriously. [ she wrinkles her nose. ] But you played with Muk? Gross! How'd you deal with the smell?

May it is, then.

I am a doctor. I have smelled far worse. Besides, Muk smells better when he's had seafood, oddly enough. And he's quite charming, even if Archie had to warn me off of hugging him. [Anatoly absolutely would have hugged Muk if he thought he could. So squishy, so enthusiastic. Like a small child...] Archie was helping me figure out what foods here were kosher, anyway, so Muk clearing people away actually helped reduce the crowds a bit. It was actually quite a pleasant night, all things considered.

[ she has to wrinkle her nose at that. poison-types could be fun to train, but the grimer she ran into on the fiery path left a stench that she'd rather forget. ]

Well if you can handle stuff like that, you must not be all that bad either. I'm glad Archie's making friends like you!

He's managed to collect quite a few friends, here. Most of us are very different people, but we're doing our best under the circumstances. I am glad to have him as a friend and glad that he seems to have come such a long way from who he was.

[ she nods. ]

I think so, too! Hearing everyone talk about how good he's been to them just makes me feel silly for even doubting him for a second.
