Recent arrival here. I'm looking for information - apart from that which the government has so kindly provided [sarcasm ftw] - about this upcoming Swear-In Ceremony. What does it entail and how much coercion is involved? The unofficial version, in other words.

Also, a decent Indian restaurant. [If there is such a thing in this backwater.]

Yeah, the travel restrictions. We can't legally buy property. Visits to the doctor are much more expensive. I've heard that for those in a shared home, registered occupants can kick unregistered flatmates out onto the street - but I've got a place of me own, so I don't have to worry about that myself, I suppose.

Legalities, as I said. Registration is absolutely necessary for the government to recognize property ownership.

[The unspoken thing here is that property ownership that isn't government recognized is a different story.]

I'm not planning on buying anything. I would consider leasing however, provided it's not government-owned.

Ah, that I don't know about. I'd guess there'd be restrictions if you aren't registered, but I've never looked into it myself.

What is the government likely to do in a case of an unregistered person owning property? Seize it?
