[The first fruits of Anakin's labors are beginning to show. He is standing beside a seemingly ordinary car - rather old and dilapidated - but as he leans in and pushes a button on the dashboard, there is a tell-tale hum and the wheels lift off of the pavement. It's a far cry from building a vessel that flies yet it is hovering and that's pretty remarkable considering the materials he had to work with.]

This won't hold up for long. [But he grins nonetheless.] It's a start.

[Anakin tilts his head back to look at the sky.]

I bet taxis could get where they're going faster if they could hover above the other cars on the road. Emergency vehicles too. There is so much air space that isn't put to use! [He doesn't really care about that; it's more an observation.] Traffic in these cities just doesn't make sense. It could be solved so easily.

[Luke, you never lose hope. That trait is contagious and Anakin has a rapidly growing fondness of seeing his son happy with him.]

I did some welding and not all the pieces are exactly as they should be, but it works -

[For now. He feels like he is building a Speeder all over again.]

I'm okay, I just... have a weird feeling in the back of my mind. It's probably nothing, though.

[He'd be more impressed if he didn't see hover mode as more of a situational use thing, but then he doesn't realistically expect flying cars and all the logistics that come along with it in his lifetime]

Perhaps you should go about presenting your solutions to the native public, as you seem to have the capabilities.

[This isn't the extent of what Anakin can accomplish. It's a seed that will hopefully grow into a fully functional spacecraft.]

I would if the parts were readily available. I had to make do with this and try my hand at welding.

[He hadn't even seen Elves do anything like this before, not even the Noldor who were so talented in the forge.

He doesn't have his dragons here so he needs a new hobby.]

Technically, they do hover - just not that high up, y'know? I'm pretty sure using the air would take, like, years of figuring out traffic laws and actually building the lights, though. People who aren't used to that kind of driving would start by crashing a lot.
