At lot has been happening these past few days it would seem...I would worry that we might be too distracted to notice those among us that have gone, especially has new arrivals make their way here.

I am not sure who all might have known him, but Link--a knight from my world--seems to have been...Ported out of here. I cannot find record of him in any directory so it is the only assumption I can make. There is a...record I have begun to keep, noting those that have been, those that have been Ported out...but I am not so sure that such a record would be of used to anyone at all...It provides to patterns, no answers.

For those of you that have had people close to you leave before you were able...what have you done? It is...I am not sure wat to do with myself now that I am essentially alone in regards to knowing people from home.

I'm actually working on studying the patterns of the Porter at the moment. I've only been able to acquire data as recent as mid-April, so an active record perhaps in conjunction with voluntary surveys could lend some insight into potential behavioral changes.

I have only just begun keeping a record myself, so there may still be some gaps. Still...if you believe such data could prove useful, I would be happy to continue maintaining such a record.

You knew him...I doesn't surprise me, he always did make friends rather easily.

Carried on as normal...I suppose that would make sense. It is not as though he--[He wasn't dead, so why mourn?] Perhaps after another day or so I can find myself doing the same...

I can't say it's necessarily the right thing to do... it's just what I've done, ya know?

In some cases, and for some people, it can be the right thing to do. At least I believe that to be true...

I...wouldn't phrase it that way...But yes, it is quite an unpleasant feeling.

I'm sorry. [ She knows this feeling, even if it's been fixed now. ] When someone I care about left, I decided to try and help others like he would. It was... sort of a distraction but also something that helped me get out and talk to others.

I think...that would be an excellent choice of action. My...friend was also the type to help others. I may see if he was involved in any specific efforts...

Even if he wasn't, just reaching out to others who maybe need an ear to listen to or a shoulder to lean on... even something like just getting ice cream together or helping out at a shelter for animals or something. It's just... it's something, you know?

It seems almost...simple in a way. To be honest, I never much had the option to do...something, regardless of what it was, when I was upset. Being here--I suppose that means that has changed.

I think the whole being here changes a lot of things for a lot of people... some that you wouldn't even think could ever change. [ She smiling a little even if Zelda can't see cause, you know, voice and all. ] Maybe doing something you never got a chance to do before might help.

That much is true. I believe for some of us...there is an amount of freedom here that we do not have at home. We can simply be who and what we wish to.

I will have to continue to look for new possibilities...

It's never easy. The one person I trusted most was only here briefly, and since then, more and more of the people I've come to care for have gone.

The matter's largely out of my hands, so I've chosen to focus on spending time with my friends. One never knows when time will run out, especially now.

I am sorry that you have experienced a loss like this more than once.

But...I will take your advice to heart. I haven't made many friends just yet, though I suppose that is my fault for spending too much time on research rather than with people. I should...make an effort to be more outgoing in the future.

I'm going to follow that advice too. I've chosen to sink into solitude far too often lately, and that isn't getting me anywhere.

New friends can teach us much.

Solitude is something I tend to cling to when I should reach out instead...It seems we are similar in that regard.

So it seems.

It's...comforting to put up a wall, to not allow others to see weakness. Sometimes that's even essential. But I've found it standing in the way of living a fulfilling life too many times.

It might help to remember that most around you are in the same boat, and also looking for allies.

I was never...encouraged to seek such relationships when I was home. I had other things to see to according to my father...

But I suppose here it is different. I cannot let my habits from home guide me any everything when I am in a world so vastly different from my own.

Having a routine usually helps me. Going to work, doing the shopping, walking around the city... stuff like that. I know I'll see my friends again one day, so I just try to carry on as normal until then.

I am still trying to establish such a routine. But....the knowledge that I may yet see my friend again is comforting in a way.

After a while, it does get a bit easier. You meet new people here; people in the same situation as you and something sparks from that. It has in my experience, anyway.

Did they give you a job when you first arrived? What about that?

I am working on that part.

As for a job--I do have one, but I would not necessarily call it...rewarding? I may begin seeking work elsewhere. Perhaps something focused in research...

Have they got you stacking shelves? Because if I was doing that, I wouldn't find it very enthralling either. [ it’s a little joke. ] I've heard the assigned jobs are very, uh, hit and miss. Sometimes.

What kind of research?

Not exactly. I am...I believe they call me a hostess. At a restaurant. It is a far cry from what I am used to.

...I am researching this world. How it differs from my own, what kinds of people come here and when. I am seeking answers I am not sure I'll find.
