[Isaac initializes the video remotely, and when it comes on, it's clear something has probably gone amiss with whatever he was trying to accomplish. He has the bottom half of an EVA suit on and is pulling on the top half as the video commences. He doesn't look precisely impressed when he looks over to the communicator.]

So, these powers aren't as easy as they sound. [He pulls on the top of the suit and fastens it around his chest, heaving a sigh as he does so.]

Anybody else having any trouble with the powers the Porters have you? How are you practicing? [He figures just learning focus should be enough, but who's counting?] Personally, I think they should have come with an instruction manual.

[Still looking a little perturbed, he moves over to the communicator and picks it up.]

Speaking of instruction manuals, does anyone know where I can get, I don't know, a textbook or something on the fundamentals of "modern" structural engineering? It's...the job they gave me, but I'm a Ship Engineer. I don't build buildings...especially not with...the tools available around here. [And what is the internet? Seriously. We haven't used anything like that in nearly five hundred years.] It'd be a big help.

[He frowns at that as he comes over.]

Hey, it's not like I got lost.

[She tilts her head and smiles.] Are you certain about that?

Yeah, I'm certain. [He heaved a sigh.] Okay, so I shaved. [And found clean clothes.]

[She raised an eyebrow.] Had you not shaved until today?

...I may have been putting it off, yeah.

[She sighs just a tiny bit and then smiles.] Does that mean you did it just for me then?

[He smiles himself.] Well, yeah.

[Her smile fades slightly.] You really are terrible at taking care of yourself.

I missed you too, Ellie. It's good to see you.

[She shakes her head and chuckles a little.] It hasn't been that long since we saw each other last. [A beat.] So, did you have anywhere in mind?

[He nods and starts off.] I found this Chinese take-out place, and there's a nice park not far from it.

[She follows at his side.] Romantic.

[A smile.] Hey, it's what I got until I get paid.

I guess it'll do.

[He looks down.] It's terrible, I know, but I'll make it up to you, Ellie. I promise.

[She laughs and shakes her head.] It's not terrible, I was only teasing you.

Right, I...yeah. [Why was he so nervous?] Ellie...I'm sorry. For a lot of things, but...mostly for pushing everything away...including you. I want...this to work.

[She may be new to this whole empathy thing but she can pick up on the nervous.] Isaac, there's no reason for you to be so nervous.

Yeah...I know. I just... [He takes a deep breath and looks over to her.]

Can...we try again, Ellie? Can...you give me another shot?

[Well, that was sudden and just...said. Just like that. She looks at him, blinks, and then turns to look forward.] Are we almost at the take-out place you were thinking of? [Oh, c'mon, Ellie. You can do better than that. Answer his question with something at least. She takes a deep breath and then doesn't answer the question.]

[Oh, well. Okay, then. He supposes that's as good an answer as any. He swallows and nods.]

Yeah, we shouldn't be too far away now. [At least he's pretty sure about that.]

You don't sound overly certain about that. [There's a part of her that's slightly disappointed that he didn't press the subject. Then again, she still wasn't sure what to say. SHe should have said nothing. Great. His nervousness was clearly rubbing off on her.]

No, it's right around the corner. [He doesn't say anything as the round said corner, but then he looks over to her.] No's an acceptable answer. I'd understand.

[She doesn't look over to him.] I didn't say no.

[It's a bad sign that she won't look at him.]
