So, hi!

[The setting: an ice cream parlor, somewhere in Heropa. The scene: Foggy Nelson, eating ice cream, because somebody offered him free ice cream with toppings and he's broke. He gives the camera a little wave and a friendly grin.]

I'm Foggy Nelson—yeah, I know, not my idea, but I'm not changing it now—and I have some questions. Don't worry, I got the "welcome to another world, you have superpowers" speech, I just have some concerns it didn't address.

[Lots and lots of them, actually, but he'll just start with the most pressing.]

First of all, I'm a lawyer back at home. Got a law firm and a partner and even a sign for our office. [A pause, during which he looks quickly away from the camera and lets out a quiet, tired sigh like he's already missing it, then:] Of course, you don't have any reason to believe me, and I don't have any proof to back me up here. Which leads me to my first question: do my qualifications still carry over into an alternate universe? Because, man, being an insurance claim investigator is the only thing that's probably worse than being a lawyer. [He's both, so he gets to be funny about this.]

Second, I might need a crash course on imPort law. I'm pretty sure immigration law doesn't quite cover "forcibly dragged to another universe" that well, and I only got maybe a sketch of the benefits of registration when I tried to ask. [This whole registration thing honestly comes off as a little sketchy to Foggy, but he's going to keep his trap shut on that much.]

Third—does anyone here know what I mean when I say the Avengers? How about the Incident? I—just need to know.

You're really not, but at least it's obvious you're from a different world to me. The Avengers exist in more than one world.

There's a beat, then Foggy just drops his head into his hand, letting out a muffled sigh.]

There goes my litmus test. [A sigh, then he pinches the bridge of his nose, and with some hesitation, like he's not sure if he should ask this but he has to know anyway, asks:] Do you still have Daredevil where you're from? [Maybe he can use that one to see who's from the same world as he is, instead.]

You're better off adding more details to it like who are the founding members because for me everyone's been an Avenger at one point or another. [Him included!]

Tiny horns, hangs out in one neighbourhood in New York. That Daredevil?

Wow, they relaxed their standards in your world, huh? [Give him a sec to enjoy this spoonful of ice cream before he continues.] Captain America, Iron Man, big guy named Thor, even bigger green guy whose name escapes me at the moment, plus there were reports of an archer and Black Widow, too. Those were the people at the first Incident I was talking about.

[He only knows about Natasha because she went and dumped like a fuckload of SHIELD files like a year ago, and everyone else—well, look, he's had a few things on his mind lately.]

...yeah, that one. [There goes that litmus test.] He's around in mine too.

[He huffs at Foggy forgetting the Hulk. However in all likelihood he's forgotten Bruce rather than himself. He's pretty sure he'd be referred to the big green Asian guy instead.]

I assume you're from New York since you're using him as your next point of reference. You've got your Avengers starting lineup and Daredevil, but you should probably add more details about him since he's your local guy if you want to be able to narrow down your universe. Red costume, Hell's Kitchen, Avenger status, when he first showed up, major villains, stuff like that.

[The Avenger status is where Foggy bursts into a sudden fit of laughter. Like. Holy shit, there's a world where Matt is an Avenger.]

He's an Avenger where you're from? When did that happen?
