Hey now, I'd be very disappointed if you were suggesting that all us rebels act the same way. I don't make those sorts of assumptions. Do you?

Of course not. We all have something different to rise against. That makes our rebellion uniquely our own.

And our methods. For all I know, you could be all about following rules in some kind of psychotic twist. Like that Saw movie.

Psycho builds insane traps that kill people slowly or require them to do terrible things to survive. But the rule is if you do make it out, you get to live. So you could be like that for all I know.

Why does he do it?

Why else? Because people are terrible. Everybody he killed did something terrible or was just wasting their life.

I mean, don't get me wrong, it's just torture porn, deeper meaning should not be sought in a franchise with upwards of six films and video game spinoffs. But the example seemed apt.

The first one must have had some artistic value, surely, if they tried so many times to imitate it?

If you are stronger than your shadows, and aware of them, they will not consume you.

You would discount somebody's art out of hand because of where it came from?

Ooooh, touché sir. That was hypocritical of me, wasn't it? [She's not going to discuss it further than that acknowledgement, though.] Alright, you find a copy of that movie, we'll watch it and judge the content for philosophical merit.

It could be. Though I'm not sure someone like you would be that interested in any stories of mine.

Did you like it? What did you do after?

I had a fabulous time. I wasn't sure about going, my date had to prod me into it, but I left massively inspired.

[ There's a pause, because uhh. After the show he was a very bad boy, but she seems unlikely to judge. ]

We left before it was finished, my employer needed to be taught a lesson, and at the time, I did not feel that it could wait. I'll be sure to stay until the end, next time.
