I've been trying to find ways to relax. I'm not really any good at it. Just came back from being at sea for two weeks, isolated from society. It was extremely pleasant.

Now I'm back and I find myself lost in society and its stresses. I work 12 hour days and sleep about 6 to 7. Research is my only outlet, my field being in Marine Biology. That and watching too much true crime dramas, but watching serials about betrayal and murder might not be a healthy way of de-stressing. Allegedly.

So I'm fielding suggestions. I'm sure you're all a very calm and collected bunch who can be of help.

On an unrelated note: fish don't smoke. And never will. Evolution doesn't work that way.

Dr. Venture, don't take offense: you can be a very outlandish person. Sometimes I'm not sure what claims of yours to take seriously or not.

Hey! What's that supposed to mean? My science is experimental, perhaps, but it's not as though anything else I do isn't grounded in fact. All of my claims can be taken seriously.

All your claims? [ ok now he's just being a shit, but it's kind of easy with venture. ] I've never really smoked anything worse than a cigarette. I suppose I'm just nervous.

Yes, all of my claims! But that's a fine enough excuse, I suppose. Do you drink? Ever take a vicodin? Or are you one of those straight edge fellows?

So that's how you see me. [ straight edged... he isn't a criminal and his rebel teen days are behind him, but good grief. ] I smoke, drink and have three cups of coffee every morning. There are plenty of chemicals churning in my body.

[ his justification is that he has been nearly killed so many times in so many stupid ways, those chemicals are fucking nothing compared to that. ]

Look, you haven't exactly given me cause to think of you in any other way. Coffee and smokes hardly count as drug usage.

But drinking, I'll give you that. But it doesn't count if it's just the occasional glass of wine with dinner.

I only drink one brand of cheap canned beer. Any time I venture out for something pricier, it always leaves a sour taste in the mouth.
