[Video] Introduction!

[The face of a man who is pushing forty appears on the network this evening. Casually stroking his beard thoughtfully as he activated his devise for the first time. His brows raising slightly as he realizes it’s broadcasting.]

Oh, hello there.

This is certainly no holo emitter is it?

[His voice sounds as tired as he looks but he carefully keeps his tone neutral.]

I suppose I should introduce myself. My name is Obi-Wan Kenobi, or Ben if that’s easier.

[He has already gotten some strange looks for his exotic sounding name from the locals here in Maurtia Falls.]

Could someone explain to me what “Performance Hypnosis” is exactly?

[Its his assigned job you see and while he knows what hypnosis is, the performance part he’s not really clear on.]

[A bouncer? This results in an amused chuckle.]

That is certainly something to consider. I'll keep it in mind. And yes, I believe its safe to say that I have plenty of fighting experience. Though I tend to avoid it if possible.

[The mention of a certain name though causes his amusement to diminish a bit.]

Ah. You have my condolences then.

[They... don't exactly get along.]

Good. Most establishments would rather not employ a man who relishes in back-alley brawls and other such other pointless altercations, I imagine. Aside from clubs, there are also private security companies who'd likely love to have an imPort in their ranks.

[The change in mood isn't lost on Klavier. The dry remark, too, says quite a bit about Ben's attitude toward Dooku. Interesting.]

He was actually quite cordial when we spoke on the network. [Although he'd been quick to inform Klavier that Count was, in fact, a title. Klavier inwardly calls him Herr Count (or "Mister Count") now, although he has yet to use that silly name out loud.] You two have some history, I take it.

I see, well you certainly have given me some options to think about and you have my gratitude for that.

[And now back to Dooku. Despite his mistrust of the man, he didn't know what has transpired here. So he was trying to be as neutral as possible.]

We do. He trained the man who trained me. Unfortunately, his views changed and we came to be on opposing sides of a war.

Ach, think nothing of it. [Klavier gives a radiant smile, leaning closer into the camera.] We're all in the same boat, after all. And we're all better off if our talents are being put to proper use, ja?

[He studies Ben carefully, taking note of his impartial language. Not the sort of manner he'd expect from someone talking about a war, of all things. Maybe this is Ben's way of keeping imPorts out of his business. Or maybe he's just avoiding needless conflict so soon after his arrival. In any case, Ben's connection to Herr Count is worth keeping in mind.]

...I see. That is unfortunate. Count Dooku is quite involved with imPort politics. You'll most likely be seeing a lot of him. That isn't going to be a problem, is it?

[Obi-Wan dipped his head in agreement.]

That we are.

[Discussing such things in depth certainly wouldn't be appropriate for someone he's only just met. However, Obi-Wan had many reasons. Avoiding needless conflict was definitely at the top of that list.]

So long as he works in everyone's best interests, and leaves our war at home, then I don't forsee a problem.

[Points that Obi-Wan was yet to be convinced that Dooku would keep.]

Well, that's a relief. I was starting to worry we'd have a second war on our hands.

[He's exaggerating, of course. But the faint amusement in Klavier's voice actually masks his staunch opposition to in-fighting. A bunch of super-powered imPorts at each other's throats is, quite frankly, the last thing he wants to deal with right now.]

...My name is Klavier Gavin, by the way. [Not that Ben can't see for himself via the network, but he may as well point it out in case he's overlooked it.] They call me Herr DJ over at the Gesellschaft Techno Terrace, the club I mentioned before. I'm in the middle of transitioning to become a state prosecutor. But feel free to drop me a line if you decide you're interested in that bouncer position after all.

My people are not inclined to war, even if we were thrust into one.

[So yeah, he'd much rather avoid conflict if at all possible. Three years of fighting Dooku and his forces was plenty.]

Ah, It's a pleasure to meet you sir. I will keep your offer in mind as I settle in here. Though where is it located, if I may ask?

A sensible approach. "War is a heart-breaker, friend only to the undertaker." I am sorry to hear it was foisted upon your people.

[He's a curious man, and wants to ask for more details. But seeing as it could be a touchy subject, Klavier has enough tact to hold off for now.]

A pleasure to meet you as well. [His expression brightens at Ben's question.] And it's in Heropa, actually. Let me send you the address, ja?

[True to his word, Ben shortly receives a ping with the club's location.]

[That indeed should be a conversation for another time. And when Obi-Wan receives the address he looks it over with a nod. He doesn’t know his way around yet but at least with this he can ask for directions.]

Ah, thank you. I will be sure to stop by sometime. If not for a job then at least to say hello.

Yeah? [That's typically the sort of thing someone says to be polite, not because they actually mean to drop by. He's kind of curious to see which category Ben falls under. Keeping those thoughts to himself, Klavier smiles again.] ...I look forward to seeing you, then.
