Here's a question for my fellow long-timers, and medium-timers too: has living in this universe changed you? Whether it's through experiences, culture, the people you've met -- do you think you're fundamentally different, on a scale small or large, from the person you would've been if you'd never been grabbed by the Porter? And if the answer's yes, how does that change make you feel?

I just realized today at lunch that I like meat in jello now and I am horrified and ashamed of myself.

Considering the level of technology on my world is crossbows and horse-drawn carts, I'd be a fool to say no.

Why would anyone ever put meat in jello?

Man, and here I thought *I* had culture shock. What surprises you most about this universe?

I think people in the 50s got really overexcited about preserving things, and then here they just...never stopped? I work in biophysics and sanctioned vigilantism, not food history.

Barely anything anymore. Humans are the same, no matter what universe you're in, after all.

But jello. There is nothing appealing about jello.
