Here's a question for my fellow long-timers, and medium-timers too: has living in this universe changed you? Whether it's through experiences, culture, the people you've met -- do you think you're fundamentally different, on a scale small or large, from the person you would've been if you'd never been grabbed by the Porter? And if the answer's yes, how does that change make you feel?
I just realized today at lunch that I like meat in jello now and I am horrified and ashamed of myself.

[She won't get into the details, because some of them she doesn't want to share with the network at large or anything.]
I've never heard of meat in jello??
text
Seriously? They love that stuff here. Not even at a swear-in?

Although I don't know that many of us have reached your level of jello-y depravity. Congratulations!

Why would anyone ever put meat in jello?
text
I think people in the 50s got really overexcited about preserving things, and then here they just...never stopped? I work in biophysics and sanctioned vigilantism, not food history.

sometimes i think i would hardly recognize the girl i am now, had i met her three years ago
and as a person who knew me longer ago than that, maybe you'd agree
as for the meat jello

I think it will make me sad. Because I know things in the future now, that I won't back home, and there's nothing I can do to change that.[ text ]
But meat in jello is certainly a terrible consequence I do hope it won't happen to me.

But that's a part of living, isn't it? Growing and changing with time? If I wasn't different,
I'd be disappointed in myself.
Text
but meat in jello? Who fed you such a monstrosity???

I have choices here too. That's made me different. I still have my old baggage, but I see the possibility for new things now and to decide what I want for myself. It's kind of scary at times, but it's a mostly a good feeling.
