So... I was wondering.

If we suddenly solved everything and were given a choice to stay here or go home, what would you choose? I've been thinking about it a lot-- [She really has, especially since finding out that they're working on finding a way for imPorts to stay or go at will. She misses Ooo, but she has more friends here than she did there, and she's happy with her life here. ... Mostly happy, anyway.] But I haven't really decided yet.

Or what about other places? Not, like, other places here. But places people you know or like here are from. Is there any place somebody's from that you'd want to visit? [That question is really just curiosity on her part. Finding out about new places is interesting!]

What makes you think you'd be allowed to stay, if it were a choice?

I asked when I went to see the Porter. Apparently people are working on ways to stay or go home when we want, but nothing's really for sure yet. [She shrugs.]

And if we weren't allowed to stay, then wouldn't they just poof us all back home?

[That's.... a hard question. He considers it for a few seconds.]

I wouldn't wanna go home. probably can't, anyway. [A shrug.] And I don't mind it here.

Other places might be alright, but it'd be kinda hard to get settled without any sort've ID or papers or whatever from that world.

They would need to gather us one by one and send us back, regardless of what we might want. Just like they did the last time.

... Last time? [Guess who doesn't spend a lot of her time looking into this place's past? THIS KID.]

[ At least what Annie's talking about hasn't been so blatantly laid out before, so... slight pass! ]

When imPorts were first brought to the United States, decades ago. Back then it was voluntary; people weren't forced to stay. The Porter's changed since then, and most believe it's due to influence by the Porter in another world, run by an intelligence called Lachesis.

I guess, but I don't know. It'd be pretty math to see where my friends are from, or to have them see where I'm from. [She shrugs a little.]

But it'd be nice to just stay here, too.

[Whooa mystery shadow face here on the video feed.]

It's hard to say. I've not much attachment to my own world, so other options are tempting to pursue.

[If he wants to establish some kind of personal heaven, he knows now he isn't limited to his own world, so options are always good.]

[ This comes at much later time in the night. Sasha appears to be in a cabin where movement all about her indicates the girls are getting ready for bed. She's wearing this and sitting at the bottom of one of the bunk beds.

FP's question is actually disconcerting. One, because she's asking it and it must imply something and two, because Sasha has to think about her own answer. ]

I don't know... it's not so bad here at all, but it's very different from my homeland and... I miss my village.

Ooo still sounds ridiculous. I might have to see it to believe it, FP.

No way. If I could, I'd go back to my world right now.

I have a lot of work to do back home, a lot of people counting on me, and things that I want to see and accomplish with my own hands, so I cannot just visit a new world whenever I feel like it.

[And it saddens him, to be honest. He now knows that there's so much more out there, and he just wants to reach out and see as much as he can, but he really cant, knowing what he has to do.]

But... given the chance? I would visit Earth. An Earth. [One without the Porter and a bunch of superpowered beings from other worlds, to be precise.] I want to experience the entire world for myself. Travel and such.

In all honesty?

[It takes Sam a moment, but he shakes his head.] I think I'd rather stay here.

I'd go home, without a second glance back. No offense to the lot of you, but home is home.

[She lets out a small laugh. ] Ooo's not ridiculous! It's math!

But I think you might fit in there.

Yeah. I miss my world, but visiting other places would be pretty math, too. [The more she thinks about it, the more she wishes she had asked if visiting other worlds would ever be a possibility. Ah well. Still fun to think about.]

I think I understand. This place is really different from Ooo, too. [Hmm.] If it's okay to ask, what's your village like?

Yeah. The more I've been thinking about it, the more I think I'd want to stay here.

It's okay. I think understand wanting to go back. I'm pretty sure I'd want to stay if I had the choice, but... I do miss Ooo a lot. And it's still my home. [Sigh.] I don't know.

I can see why people would want to stay, it's not exactly a terrible place here. I just got things to do back home. Maybe they should make it vacation style instead.

I know what I'm going back to. Frankly, I'd just rather not at this point.

I don't think I'm especially mathematical.

There really isn't any going back, as I've been trying to drill through the dry, dense crust of wilful ignorance the community at large has chosen to encase their cranial hulls in, but in this hypothetical scenario where we aren't doomed forever, I guess I'd stay. At least here I'm not being cosmically pitted against multiple, and I stress multiple, invincible demons.

Do... you like the humans here? It's not scary for you, is it?

[ She had said humans didn't exist in Ooo and lately, Sasha's come to realize there are a surprising amount of bad human beings here. It's depressing. ]

It's small and quiet, located south of Wall Rose near the mountains and forest. A lot of villages and towns get their food from the farms, but our ancestral practice is hunting.

[ It's a question he pondered ever since Balthazar told him what happens at home. And the answer isn't an easy one. ]

I'd stay. There are worse things to return home to than simple death. What hinders your decision?

[ Because as long as he is here, he might not become ruthless enough to stab close friends in the back. ]
