Okay, so, you DO NOT want to default to the typical fancy restaurant, chocolates and flowers thing, because that's pretty generic. But here's the twist—you don't want to avoid those things if your intended likes that stuff, even if it is generic.

So think about who they are and what they like, whatever it is, and then go one level fancier.
