( video ) » stepping out of body; no matter what you call it, I'm a kamikaze
[What hasn't Betsy seen at this point? She's checked off the space, alternate realities, body swapping, alien invasions, and apocalypses on her multiverse bingo card. This mutant has seen just about all the universe -- the multiverse -- has to offer. She looks into the camera with an expression that seems to suggest a laid back air, then quirks a violet eyebrow up; all of her hair is violet, as are the irises of her eyes. She has her device levitating far enough away from her face that it's not showing every pore of her skin, but you don't have to squint to see her, either. She's been here for one day, so here's her first impression on the network. Finally.
She's in her house in Maurtia Falls sitting on a couch, a pillow with a Union Jack pattern on it on her lap, with a plate of sushi by her side that she's still working on finishing -- but not while broadcasting this video, because talking with one's mouth full is rude.
The username attached to the device making this broadcast is: Psylocke.]
You know, as long as I keep not hearing the term 'Mojo' here, this universe might not be so bad. Call me optimistic.
[The comment comes in a deadpan tone, with an accent that is English -- she sounds like someone from Maldon, for those here who are good at placing accents more specifically than just 'yep, she's from England all right'.
She idly swings and spins loosely in one hand with what looks to be the hilt of a sword -- more specifically, a katana, for those with an eye of familiarity with that type -- but one without a blade attached to it. Because that's exactly what it is. Her other hand is resting on the table.]
Travelling through time and space is generally what we call 'another day with the X-Men' back where I'm from. So I guess I have that going for me too; how lucky. However, due to the unannounced nature of my, mm, visit here, it would have been nice to have time to pack some essentials. [It's always good time for a sarcastic joke.]
As for anyone else here...
[She trails off for a moment.]
Tell me: What's your favorite or most interesting part about this universe? Aside from the file I was given, and what I was told, I know bugger all about it here. Obviously.
[Might as well learn from the people who have been here longer, right?]
Psylocke, out.
[People she's more familiar with can call her Betsy, Bets, or Elizabeth. Anyone with a death wish can call her any other variation of the name "Elizabeth".]

Private Video
[ And the face leaning into the video's frame is smiling, all sense of tension and worry gone. It is a contented smile, and one full of warmth. He is sitting in what looks like, and is, a doctor's office. On break, he was checking the network and now is very happy he did.
His mind, formerly chaotic, is now smooth and his legs pulled up under him in an old and familiar pose of meditation as he lays his mind open to her, if she wants to reach out. ]
Welcome to the latest weird in our lives.
Re: Private Video
I thought weird was just the default state of things where people from our world's concerned. [for real tho. Said with a smirk.] I'm assuming my timing is impeccable and I just missed the alien invasion?
Private Video
[ He grins at her, sharing that. ]
As far as I know, there have been none here, but you did miss a right mess last month, so well done! There is still plenty of crazy to be had, however.

I haven't really been here that long to determine what it is I do and don't like about this universe but I can't help but wonder what sort of universe you're from as the X-Men are part of mine as well.

[ There's students as well... Rogue, Bobby, Kitty, Jubilee, though not full-fledged members as of, well, prior to coming here. ]
I would have to guess a future or perhaps a parallel universe when it comes to our worlds.

My favorite part is that my high school never exploded. Among other, similar-ish things.

[Because w o w are they screwed last she remembers. Well. Screwed like usual, but, details.
About that high school, though-- ]
Well, that's definitely good news. [She nods.] Even if I am concerned about the standards we've set for ourselves. ['we' and 'ourselves' meaning people from their world. It's not without good reason, because they literally never catch a break, but still.]

We're just imPorts here, though. The gene code doesn't matter all that much.

The most interesting part of this universe is definitely the technology and science. Strides have been taken.

[ X-Men always catch his eye - mostly because they're connected to Laurie. He makes a mental note to ask Laurie about this lady later, see whether or not she's happy about this development. ]
The VR they've got here is pretty cool. And, weirdly, this world's in danger less than the one I'm from, so that's a plus.
no subject
I'm always down for less danger. Are you from one of those worlds that have things like alien invasions and a lot of property damage every five minutes, too? [there are ... probably way too many of those.]

Oh, what is "Mojo"?

[you might need to check yourself when Wolverine of all mutants fires you for being too aggressive.]
To sum that one up? The most unsightly thing you'll ever have the displeasure to look at. And sadistic.

You're looking significantly younger and significantly more alive than the last time I saw you. [Or, another version of him. Whatever.] Though, I think I have you beat on resurrection upgrades. [Not that she hated her original body, but, it's hard to beat body swapping.]
And you owe me a new katana. [btw.]

[It's better here. Of course, it's a statement that needs clarifying--safe feels like such a stupid, naive word sometimes--but it's basically true.]
Weird things happen, and everyone has superpowers...but you can have a normal life. If you want one.
