[The video opens on a young man and a large, floating hunk of rock. With eyes. Completely nonplussed by this, Jean-Yves rubs the Fairy type's head as he speaks.]

Hello. My name is Jean-Yves and I'm, ah, I'm new here. Again. Arriver comme un cheveu sur la soupe, that's me. [He shrugs, self-deprecating, not as bothered as he should be by this whole world-hopping-thing.] I have two questions of varying importance. Firstly, is there anyone else here with Pokemon who can help me explain them to the locals? Apparently this world doesn't have them and while my Goomy seems to be endearing to people, Blinkeux here is having a harder time fitting in. It's really getting him down. I mean, just look at him. [Blinkeux stares into the camera, expression completely unchanged.] See? C'est dommage.

Secondly, how do I turn off my superpower? I may have ruined a government car earlier... with hail. From the inside. I apologized to the driver, but I still feel kind of bad about it. I'd rather not do that again...

Okay, there are definitely more than enough trainers that can help you out with the whole "Local-Pokemon Relations" thing. Seriously.

As for the powers? Sorry, man. You're kind of stuck with 'em and the only way to really work it out is to...practice.

Well, that's a relief.

But I don't even know how to turn the hail on again to practice. Or how I stopped it, either. It just sort of came and went.

You got lucky. Most of them are pretty active around the network if you haven't met any of them already.

And trust me, I get the whole "powers being a pain in the ass" thing. When I first got here? I had ice beams. It was not fun having my room turn into an ice rink every other day. Try to pay attention to things that happen or how you feel when it starts up, you might have a trigger for it.

Ice beams sound a little more useful than hail. I mean, I appreciate getting a power, I guess? But I don't know what I'm supposed to do with it. Thanks for the advice, though. I'll try to make a note whenever it happens.

With the way things can be around here? Don't be surprised if you find a use for that power eventually.

Just hope they don't switch up on you. I got ported out once and came back with a completely different power.

If you say so. It seems a little unwieldy to me.

I didn't know that was a possibility. [Nobody had mentioned that to him before.] Do powers always change when someone gets Ported in and out?

Eh, depends on how good you get with it, I guess.

As for being Ported out and back in...They don't always change, but then again sometimes people don't remember having been here before either. I don't think any of us really understand how this whole thing works.

Plus side? I can spontaneously generate milkshakes now.

I suppose it couldn't hurt to talk to him; I don't want to impose, but it'd be nice to know I wasn't the only one here with Pokemon. Maybe he can give me some advice on what to avoid. Other than the, um, hail thing, I mean. Apparently that's my 'superpower'.

You aren't! There's a lot of people here with Pokémon just in De Chima alone. I'm neighbors with a few of them, even, not just Red.

You can summon hail? That's a pretty good superpower—I don't really know anyone else who can summon hail, but I think there's a couple of people who're willing to help you train. [A pause.] I could help you figure some of it out. Nothing helps like practice does.

Thanks for telling me. I would have asked the government agent who debriefed me, but he was a little distracted by the hail. Turns out that's really loud in enclosed spaces.

I can, but I don't know how I did it or how I got it to stop. Any help would be great - I don't want to break anything, here, and I think my Pokemon will start getting annoyed if they have to put up with it regularly, you know?

Anyone would be distracted by hail, I have a cousin who got a concussion in a hailstorm one time. The snowball that hit her was average-sized, but it was really fast, so.

[He hums.]

Yeah, let's spare them that. There's an old junkyard not far from the outskirts of town, everything there comes pre-broken and no one's gonna mind if you cause a snowstorm out there. You can meet me out there, we can practice.

That's exactly what I want to avoid. My Pokemon, I can put back in their balls, but I can't really shield people from hail.

That would be wonderful. I'll have to check my schedule, since they gave me an internship job, but I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

Muk and Grimer tend to get that reception even at home, though. It's the smell.

[He says it with some sympathy - the Pokemon can't help it - while his Carbink stares back at Crobat, ears wiggling slightly.]

It took ten minutes to get it to shut off earlier. Thinking 'stop' really hard doesn't seem to work.

There's a Weezing here as well, so they have company, at least. Even if everyone here is stupid and wrong about them.

[archie will personally fight everyone that doesn't like smelly poison types, here or back home.]

What started it? [a pause.] Uh... what Pokémon do you have with you? Goomy, Carbink...

A Weezing? That makes me homesick for Kanto. I haven't seen any of those since I moved to Kalos, just Trubbish.

I'm not entirely sure. I was just sitting there thinking about how my life's gotten really weird in the past few months and then, voila, hail. And I have a Carbink - Blinkeux, I nickname all my Pokemon - a Goomy, Henri, who's more or less a newborn, and Yvette, my Sylveon. The rest of my team didn't come with me, but... [Jean-Yves adjusts his camera to show a Sylveon fast asleep on a dog bed, curled protectively around a sleeping Goomy.] I'd say they're adjusting well, given the circumstances.

[kalos? he could've guessed with the ~~french~~ kalosian peppered around.]

I'm from Hoenn-- you can get both the lines there. [he won't say where he got. his. god only knows where they were caught.] ...Maybe it's based on how weird your life is.

[jean will hear a soft gasp when he moves the camera. it's all he can do to not weep openly.]

I wanted one when I was younger, but my mother said no; she's big on Rock-types, if it were up to her I'd have a team made of Rhyhorns. [He shrugs, voice clearly conveying he doesn't get it.] If my power's based on life being weird, it'll always be going off. That can't be it.

Yeah, Yvette's decided Henri is her new baby brother. Nobody tell them their species aren't in the same Egg Group. [Sylveon's ribbon-like feelers are wrapped loosely around the Goomy's middle, keeping him safe and secure against her. They missed the memo that Dragon and Fairy types were supposed to be enemies.]
