I have a strange question...

Do you feel safe here? Do you feel like help would come if you really needed it?

We're heroes and villains, but how many of us have experience with either role? It's not something that happens overnight.

[An apple floats around him as if it is caught in his gravitational pull. He ignores it, at first.]

Abilities need training and time. [Now the fruit is captured and Anakin takes a bite.] I get the feeling everyone is pretending, doing their best as they stumble along.

I think we can do better.

[ Oddly, Kylo's almost relieved to see his grandfather struggling like this on the Network. Not because he wants him to be struggling, but because it makes sense of some of the heavy, oppressive pressure he's been sensing around his presence in the Force.

It actually reassures him, knowing that he's still reaching out.

Kylo's at home, but he's not in the living room sprawled out on the couch- he's sequestered away in his own room- the guest room Anakin might remember from the mishap with the Porter re-opening his wounds. ]

[This is how they cope. Anakin doesn't see a reason to put on a happy face and pretend he isn't feeling...lost. And scared. If something - or someone - pushes him over the edge, he knows how bad he can get and he doesn't want to become that monster again. Not in front of Padmé, Luke, Kylo or anyone else.]

On accident. [Or after years of preparation. Then it's not really "overnight", is it.] I'm not relying on happy accidents anymore.

[He shifts, frowning.] Is that your way of admitting defeat?

I don't think those that matter have enough protection here. Cutting down on the chaos would definitely help.

Who do you count as important enough to merit protection? Chaos is a constant. Even in order, the seeds of it exist.

There isn't any divine intervention. [The idea is laughable, but he is bitter.] I was referring to what we can do for each other.

I am confident in my own skills to assist me when needed. I may not have experience with my new abilities here as others do but I am confident in my ability to survive no matter what.

I'm not pretending, though. I've had my abilities my whole life. If you think we can do better, I'm all ears.

It's a good question. I think you're right: we could do better. And we should.

I think a lot of good resources are being ignored. Having powers is shocking to some people and that's understandable, but there's a use for them somewhere and I'd rather have a group of trained people than a panicked crowd.

Maybe. I still think a lot of powers are being overlooked or ignored. They don't need to be frightening additions.

Then you would make a good teacher to others. I think you have the demeanor for it too. [Without Masters, where would apprentices even begin?]

At this point, I feel that it's unlikely I have any allies who'd come for me if I were in need - well, perhaps I have one or two. Even so, I don't have strong relationships with them yet.

With my comrades from home, we had years of history and prior cases where we supported each other. Perhaps that will come for me here, in time.

I'm sorry. [He is absolutely sincere in that sentiment. Being left alone is one of his greatest fears. At least with his family around, it feels like he belongs somewhere.]

I don't know if I would use the word 'safe,' myself.

But if the situation were... I suppose, dire enough, I believe there are enough here to avert a grand calamity. Anything less than that, I couldn't say.

I'd rather be more certain. That's why I support training. If you know your powers well, be a teacher. If you need help with your powers, be a student.

I wouldn't feel safe anywhere. Feeling safe's a bad idea. It leads to people putting their guard down.

Being a villain can happen overnight. Or at least it feels that way. People miss the warning signs. And it's perspective too. Villain's one of those labels that some people are given when they're just trying to survive.

Is that one of your powers? Catching fruit? I don't know how much good that'll do.

Not everyone is pretending. Some powers take more time and training than others.

Sometimes it's for survival and sometimes it's for sanity. [He snorts.] No. I can use the Force to do a lot more than that. I guess you'd call it Telekinesis?
