The atmosphere is mostly carbon dioxide with a mixture of nitrogen and argon - as well as other trace gasses. This sun's radiation is what makes it uninhabitable by humans, at least, so we will need suits for protection.

...an ion engine... Or dual ion engines... If I could get my hands on parts for one, we could go further than Mars.

Even if you had dual ion engines, no other planet or moon in this system seems to have any kind of useful resources according to my research.

And to get out of the system to the next would require a working hyperdrive.

They are uninhabited, then? All of them? This galaxy is really strange, but Earth is beautiful, so I can't really blame them for staying put.

I am not familiar with available materials on this planet, but I know a great deal about designing protective suits.

Building a hyperdrive would require parts that are difficult to find or would have to be custom made for that purpose.

Then there is also the issue of how to power the hyperdrive, especially given the current level of technology on this planet.

Then let's talk about designs. [He is less enthusiastic about being in a suit, but he also likes being able to breathe.] They will need respirators.

Making them custom isn't a problem. I just need to know the components and their functions.

...asking for anything on the atomic level likely isn't going to be successful. We'll have to use the flammable fuel they prefer.

I'm familiar with the components of a hyperdrive.

Which isn't going to be practical if you want to leave the local system or well, if you want to go very far. You have to find a way to take off with that fuel which is going to take even more fuel..

We'll make do with what we have. I want to see what the other planets have to offer before we venture out further anyway.

That is a good idea- they may not have resources we would consider valuable but I'm sure there are still things we could mine from them.

No. And no! No life support, no hyperdrive; my squad and I were crazy, but we weren't that crazy.

We take what we can mine, we analyze it and build onto our ship(s). This will be a long project, but it's better than twiddling our thumbs.

You don't really need all of that if you know how to fly. It was easier for me because I could sense my enemy's next move, I guess. I've always been able to do that.

We can compare notes soon.

That is a plan then. Getting off the ground will be our first priority.

Earth has a lot to offer. Some of the resources haven't even be tapped yet. I'll need to run some tests on them to see if they have any power.

It will take time to draw up the plans and do the necessary calculations so we'll have to do research.

I've learned how to be resourceful when needed, however.

You know, some of the fighter jets here are similar in build to X-wings. We might be able to get one and modify it.
