This sun's radiation is what makes it uninhabitable by humans, at least, so we will need suits for protection.

...an ion engine... Or dual ion engines... If I could get my hands on parts for one, we could go further than Mars.

Even if you had dual ion engines, no other planet or moon in this system seems to have any kind of useful resources according to my research.

And to get out of the system to the next would require a working hyperdrive.

Building a hyperdrive would require parts that are difficult to find or would have to be custom made for that purpose.

Then there is also the issue of how to power the hyperdrive, especially given the current level of technology on this planet.

Respirators, rebreathers with an oxygen supply for vacuum and hostile environment.

Radiation, thermal insulation and temperature regulators, a layer of at least light to medium armorweave to prevent puncture or laceration damage to the suit. Communications equipment...

Pressurization for the extremities if they're to be used in high-speed maneuvering. Not to mention power systems. Zero-gravity maneuvering can also be prudent but is not often necessary.

Parts suitable for integrating into a life support system are also required. I am overseeing its construction. The electrolytic oxygen production methods this planet uses are too weak to provide for crews larger than three or four.

My method will keep the weight of the system low, but I still require fabricated or salvaged parts.

As we would likely be breaking into a facility, you would need not only containment suits but reinforced containment suits.

Unfortunately, the first difficulty would be leaving this planet's gravity well, however.

We're working on it. A powerful engine, propelled by the fuel this planet favors should be enough. We're not going far.

Why not? This is a lush planet; it's just the technology and expertise that is lacking.

Depending on what those specs require, it could be possible. I've worked with starships before. I know a thing or two about them. Maybe we could meet halfway between what you know and I know and make some educated guesses.
