Before I start, please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Mitsuru Kirijo and, as the rest of this message will doubtless betray soon enough, I have only recently arrived. I apologise in advance if any of this seems overly blunt or harsh. This isn't like any situation I'm accustomed to so I ask that you forgive any breach of personal or local etiquette and trust that it isn't intentional on my part.

That being said, I do have some questions concerning our job assignments - not the job we were brought here for, I understand that, but the employment we are granted in order that we are able to support ourselves financially. While I don't wish to seem ungrateful, I'm not certain I'm entirely cut out for the role I have been assigned to and, truthfully speaking, I have to question how it is they determine who is given what job. Is it entirely random? Or are we supposed to consider it a challenge to test our adaptability?

And following on from that, how would those who have already done so advise that I go about seeking employment I feel I am more suited to? I am happy to expand on my skillset should the need arise but I feel that is perhaps better suited for private conversation where it holds relevance.

There is no need to apologise. If I truly did not wish for my conversations to be observed then I would have taken measures to prevent that.

Forgive me if this is presumptuous. If you are friends with Kitagawa, does that mean you have a certain special quality in common with him?

[Vague enough to brush aside if not but she hopes clear enough what she means if it does mean anything at all.]

Thank you for your honesty. Aragaki mentioned that Kitagawa is also a Persona user so I did wonder.

I ask because I am one, too. And because I'm rather curious as to the circumstances that lead to new Persona users in what is my future.

[If only because if the future her that Adachi mentioned is any indication, it's something she'd have an interest in by then even if the Kirijo Group had nothing to do with it any longer.]

Were Persona users supposed to disappear after you and your friends then?

I'll admit, I'm not entirely certain. I suppose there is no reason that they should no longer exist, it just isn't something I've really considered before. Up until very recently my focus was more towards ensuring there was a future at all so what exactly is contained within it is somewhat of a mystery.

[She has some of the pieces now. But that won't stop her wanting more.]

[ That's an interesting piece of information, though. Haru had never known about other users until she arrived here. Akechi being able to wield two Personas was a big enough shocker way back.

So they come and go in groups then? But what for? Another twisted god's game? ]

I completely understand that. These powers bestowed to us... well, it is not as if they came with an instruction manual, yes? （⌒▽⌒）
Was your future threatened then?

I'll agree they do take some time to master. Especially when there is only so much non Persona users can do to assist.

[You know, such as letting their young daughter come with them to Tartarus to fight Shadows. Little things like that.]

Not just mine, but the world's. As far as I know, things have settled down now but I've been given reason to believe that wasn't the end of my involvement as far as dealing with Shadows goes.

Non-Persona users? Do you mean the average person? Are they aware of such power?
So you fought against Shadows, too...

It's unusual, but it can happen. Probably not too often, though.

[And it perhaps doesn't really count when those 'average' people were the scientists poking around Shadows and Personas in the first place.]

Either way, dealing with Shadows has been part of my life for long enough that I can see why I would remain so even past what I remember. It isn't really the sort of thing you can just forget about, after all.

[Even with what happened to their memories in the lead-up to Graduation.]

This is an interesting turn of events. I understand Shadows have been around a long time, but I suppose I never once thought about how long.

Have you been able to use a Persona for a long time as well then?

That's understandable. It's natural to focus on things as they affect us and think rather less on what might have come before or since.

[Especially in matters relating to Shadows, which most people have no reason to consider until they're forced to confront them.]

I have. I was very young when mine developed. Perhaps that is why I find it so difficult to foresee myself no longer being involved with dealing with Shadows.

Your Persona must be incredibly powerful if you have been able to use it for so long. You must be quite skilled.

I'm not sure I'd go that far. Regardless of my own experience, I still would not get far without the support of others.

[Which she can admit, now she's in a place where she's a little more willing to be open with at least her fellow SEES members.]

I feel the same way. I know I could not have done what I needed to do without the help of my friends.

I suppose that's true for everyone, regardless of what they might believe.

[She knows she was once guilty of believing that she bore the burden of rectifying her grandfather's wrongs by herself, and she knows she's not the only member of SEES to have held belief, at one time or another, that they were on their own.]

Oh, my apologies. I realize this entire time I have been speaking with you I never once properly introduced myself.

A pleasure to meet you, Okumua-san. I imagine we will see a fair amount of each other, given the overlap of those we know.

[And, you know, because Haru's a Persona user and Mitsuru feels obliged to be on hand for any and all of those, of her time or otherwise.]

I do hope so. I am quite excited to meet other Persona users.

I will do my very best! I was the last to awaken to my Persona, so there was much I missed out on to my knowledge.
