[ Starr kicks off the video in Chilton's office, sitting at his desk. Chilton's nameplate has been replaced with another one reading: Dr. Herr K. Starr ]

It seems Doctor Chilton has ported out. So until further notice, I will be taking over the Maurtia Falls Psychiatric Hospital for Abnormal Conditions. Staff is to immediately report to me for evaluation and policy updates.

For the time being, we will not be accepting patients unless in the most dire of circumstances -- in which case, I will be able to implement shock therapy. In my humble opinion, such therapy does work best when placed upon ones genitals, but I will leave that up to the patient.

[ He pulls out a notepad, puts on Chilton's reading glasses, and picks up an entirely too fancy pen. ]

Now simply because we will not immediately be taking patients does not mean we cannot get you in the system. So let's start this with the basic question most psychiatrists are sure to ask: what is your deepest, darkest sexual fantasy?

I suppose you could think of it as one. A social experiment so to speak.

You shrinks and your curiosity. Ever think of getting a hobby?

What would you suggest?

Music, drawing, cooking, something that lets you be creative.

[The hobbies Hannibal liked. Not including the killing.]

Something you can play with, other than people's minds.

[herrstory]

Sounds rather dull. What about murder instead?

[am_i_a_monster]

You're even more like the other shrinks I've known.

Killing changes a person. You might not like the change.

[herrstory]

You...know a lot of murderous psychiatrists?

[ What. ]

And you come from Doctor Chilton's world? He is not one, is he?

[am_i_a_monster]

I know a lot who would ask about murder.

[Only Hannibal actually killed as far as she knows.]

We come from the same world, but we didn't know each other there. I don't really know him here either. I don't think he's a murderer.

[herrstory]

I do not think he is either.

[ Shady and ruthless in other areas. But not murdering people. ]

So tell me more about this world of yours.

My world was a lot like this, except without the porters, powers and other weirdness.

What was your world like?

[herrstory]

And murdering psychiatrists. I would say that is pretty out of the ordinary.

My world is also a bit like this. Except with minimal powers. And more religion.

[am_i_a_monster]

Is it?  I would think the killers would be attracted to professions where they can have power over others, like psychiatry.

Religion.  One more area that gives people power over others.

[herrstory]

If their aim is to have power over people, I suppose. Rather than simply murdering for the thrill of it.

[am_i_a_monster]

I think for some killers, the thrill comes from knowing they have the power to take a life.

[herrstory]

You would be correct. And perhaps the victims could be blamed for being powerless in the eyes of some.

[am_i_a_monster]

By people who think that victims broadcast their vulnerability somehow?

[herrstory]

Simply for not being able to survive. I do not believe we should live in a world where the weak are preyed upon. But there is a weakness inherent if one cannot survive an attack.

[am_i_a_monster]

It depends on the circumstances. There's always going to be people who are stronger than others. And there's always people blind to the danger around them.
