[There's a pirate leaning in far too close to the camera and blinking a lot. Then he frowns and moves it back a little. He spends a little too long staring at it and frowning before finally deciding it's good. Does he realize it's recording already? It's unclear. But when he finally decides to talk, he doesn't push anything. He just smiles, nodding towards the camera.]

Evening. I'm Captain Hook. And I have a question for our esteemed overseers. Specifically, those jocular miscreants in charge of employment.

[He lifts his hook. There are bits of wire and clockwork dangling from it. Clearly the remains of what used to be a clock of some sort. It's dead now.]

Don't misunderstand me, I'm rather dextrous with my hook, but even I have my limits. Really, clockmaking? I can hardly think of any tasks I'd be more ill-suited to perform.

Honestly, weren't there any opportunities for sea-faring careers?

Could I see how you wield your hook?

If you watch me long enough, you'll hardly be able to avoid seeing.

Now how exactly does that work? [Is he trying to be clever here. There's no way this guy is aware of Hisoka's stalking tendencies, what does he know.]

Simple. [His exasperation is evident in his tone.] I use my hook for many things. If you're watching, you'll see me wield it fairly quickly. Faster still if you annoy me.

I'm disappointed, it sounded like a threat before.

Who, precisely, are you?

Someone looking for a threat. But I guess I don't know if you're really worth it yet. One handed and all.

[It stings his pride a little. He's the infamous Captain Hook. His adventures span worlds and are told even in places where they don't believe he's real. One handed has never slowed him down in a fight.

But he also knows when he's being provoked. And he's pretty sure he's not looking for someone who's looking for a threat.]

I don't threaten. I've never found it necessary to get my point across.

[Good, Hisoka was starting to think people here barely had a pride, or that they just weren't going to let him piss them off enough to make them start something.]

Well that hook doesn't really seem to be getting any points across by itself. But I suppose to the right person it certainly has an image to it. But to most, it'd just make you crippled.

You come out and provoke me for no reason. What is it, precisely, you're hoping to gain from all this?

Hhaaa, a fight. What else?

And you choose to insult me until I indulge you? Your technique would work better if it were less transparent.

Transparent, hm, so you're used to someone looking for a fight then? I'm not really the type to hide my interests, why would subtly matter? And i mean what I said about you being a cripple, that wasn't anything but the truth. Until you prove otherwise that that toy you have there, it's just an accessory to me.

And why, precisely, should I give a damn what you think?

Heh. [Smiling on the other line.]

I've been wondering the same thing. But I guess neither of us feel any need to prove ourselves, do we?

Nope. Nor do I feel any need to continue this conversation.

[He's hanging up now. X( ]
