[There's no introduction, no time wasted on pleasantries.] This is Armstrong. There's been a gas attack at the University grounds in De Chima that's causing hallucinations, some kind of mass hysteria. I have gas masks and tranquilizer rifles located at the West entrance to keep the peace.
I need a goddamn situation report and I need it ten minutes ago.
[Those who want to get a resupply from Olivier can find her exactly where she said she'll be .]

text; from bat symbol
[ His voice to text doesn't do italics, but the disbelief is there. Is this default Olivier, or is this something RISE is up to? Some secret, militarized effort?
Not that he isn't grateful that she does, and he'll have more time to worry about his paranoia later, but that is god. damn. suspicious. ]
Audio
Anything helpful to add or are you going to waste my time with pointless questions?
Audio
And those people. Those screaming people... He has to help them. ]
I had a truck parked nearby too. [ But his guess that this would happen is, if anything, just as suspicious as hers. At almost that exact moment - because Bat-timing - the Batwing would pass over the coordinates Olivier provided, engines crooning. ] I can limit its spread in the northwest corner, toward the densest pocket of campus population. I suggest you focus your efforts elsewhere.
Audio
How are you going to limit its spread? How do you know what it is?
Audio
But he has solid, evasive answers to fit, for the moment. ]
I've encountered this type of gas before, in my own world; my own city. My plane is equipped to condense some of it back into its liquid form, but I didn't anticipate an attack on this scale.
Audio
What are the effects? How long does it last? Is there any cure? Tell me everything you know.
Audio
A biopharmaceutical company in Gotham developed a cure, but it's only partially effective on this strain. [ Blatant code for 'had some on hand' and 'personally tested it on myself'. ] Altered this way, I can't be certain that any cure is viable.
Audio
[Gotham. That's beginning to narrow down both who this could be, and who the culprit could be.]
Audio
[ There's a pause, as his maneuvers take more of his attention, and then he continues as though uninterrupted. ]
--devices on site, which should be contained and cordoned off. If they exist, they will be booby trapped.
Audio
It sounds like you're pretty familiar with whoever might have done this. Is it a diversion?
Audio
[ Wow that is his only answer to that question. Crane doesn't divert. He wants everyone to see. He wants to see for himself. The chaos is his drug.
But when it comes to Olivier, to RISE, she can clear up his messes but Crane is from Gotham. Crane is his responsibility, Crane is unhinged, and Bruce will be damned if he sees him lynch mobbed by laws cherrypicked to suit him. That's not how justice works. ]
[OOC: Reminder that this thread is from Batman, not Bruce. The original reply in the parent thread makes that clear, if in doubt. ]
Audio
Who the hell's behind this?
(ooc: Yep! I got it. She just infers this guy knows the culprit, nothing more.)
Audio
[ He's said too much already. ]
I'm dealing with them myself. We discussed my feelings before, and I don't know about you, but I'm a little too busy to fight with you about it now. People are dying.
[OOC: yup! The ooc note was more in case the link over from the other page didn't make it clear for people reading. ]
Audio
This suddenly makes things far more clear in her eyes. She's beginning to wonder if her suspicions...] You have no authority to deal with them yourself. Worry about saving the people.
We'll handle the justice.
Audio
RISE only succeeds if the community allows it to, but you act as though your position is without question. You thrive on the power, and I will never support your organization so long as you remain at its wheel.
In short: I don't answer to you, don't ever condescend to give me orders again.
Audio
A lone vigilante working outside the law trying to pass judgment? How nauseatingly hypocritical. Our position will be set by our results.
The man behind this will face our judgment. Not your mockery of extrajudicial justice. Now I'm done wasting time on you; I have a damn city to save.
Audio
Stuff your orders, Armstrong.
Audio
Armstrong out.
