Capsule 006 ð (Video) [Locked from Tetsuo]
[It's late at night, well past 11pm when the feed clicks on. At first it doesn't look like anything, a bunch of blackness with one bright light in the distance. It looks like a lamppost...or what's left of one. It seems to have been literally broken in half by impact alone, the metal completely snapped instead of bent, the upper half lying on the sidewalk and facing up. Sparks fly from the base of it, the cord obviously cut there when it was snapped. Whatever hit it...well, it had to be going at an incredible speed.
But the feed turns, towards a closer, brighter lamppost that seems to be intact, Kaneda sitting in front of it on the sidewalk.
Well, you look like you've seen better days, buddy.
He doesn't say anything at first, more so trying to catch his breath as a hand reaches up to his head. Face contorting into a wince as his fingers rake through his hair. When his gloved hand comes out, he looks at it as if he just found a gross bug.
Blood. Even better.]
Dammit.
[Whatever mirth he had in his voice earlier that night from the comm is gone, and the glitter in his eyes is lost. Oh yeah, he was recording, wasn't he. Those eyes turn towards the screen, away from the broken lamppost that he was seemingly fixated on. His voice is low, and some of his words are a little slurred as he tries to make a coherent sentence.]
Don't care who it is, but I need a healer. Or a way back.
[He's not too far from the house, but walking is just not happening.]

[He's not too far from the house, but walking is just not happening.]
Video
[Why does this keep happening? But this was worse than the bridge, much worse. Like hell she's waiting for someone else to respond this time. She's no healer, but she can get him to one.]
Kaneda, what happened?
[Keep him talking while she puts on her maglev.]
Video
When asked what happened, he blinks a few times, trying to keep himself focused on the conversation.]
Hit a lamppost.
Flew into it--psychic bullshit.
[His finger reaches up doing the crazy 'twirly' motion next to his temple.]
Video
[There's a pause as she takes that in, but she quickly finishes equipping her armor.]
Who did it? Is this the same guy that threw you off the bridge?
[Switching the call to her helmet, a video opening on her display so she can keep an eye on him, she grabs her discs and wastes no time running out of the house.]
Video
[His words slur a bit at that, chin slipping off his hand before he readjusts it, blinking rapidly to stay up and alert.]
Sounds pretty charming, doesn't he.
Video
[Technically they did, once that she doesn't know it was him, but she's talking about the times they've texted.
Not very good memories.]
Talk to me, Kaneda, what happened?
[She's running now, passing up traffic on her way to the porter. Soon.]
Video
Don't ask him how that magic works.]
He wanted to know something, and when I didn't give it to him, he threw a tantrum.
[At least, that's how he remembers it. He's still got some fuzziness, but he's sure that's how it all went down.]
Video
Kaneda...
[Okay fine, he probably doesn't want to go into specifics, or literally can't.]
What hurts?
[Her voice is softer, calmer.]
Video
My head. Think that's what took the most of it this time. Back and shoulders too, but I don't think anything's busted.
[He knows nothing's busted, except for that little part of him that's bleeding. How do you even....that metal bar SNAPPED IN HALF.]
That's gonna be a nasty bruise.
Video
[Too much time wasted at the porter getting cleared, but then she's in Nonah, stopping only long enough to get some supplies from a convenient store before she starts looking for him. Does his comm have GPS?]
Video
That's a chilling thing to think about.]
Hard enough. Metal doesn't usually...break.
[Kaneda, your skull would be literal powder if you didn't have that durability.]
Video
[She knows very well how much force must have been necessary and that makes her feel cold. He could have died today.]
I'm almost there, Kaneda. Just keep talking.
Video
I'm not paying for that thing.
[Yes, his eyes are back on that lamppost, brows furrowed.]
It's all on that asshole.
Video -> Action
[It takes a minute to pinpoint the exact street on her display, but Gogo finds the shattered lamppost before too long, and Kaneda just beyond that. She slides to an abrupt stop in front of him, yanking off her helmet (cutting the call), and attaches the discs to her back as she kneels down.]
Kaneda? You with me?
[Her voice is much softer than on the call. She's not freaking out, she's seen worse, though unease whispers through her skull. Head wounds bleed, she knows this. They're not always an indication of damage.]
Action
It's not much longer that she's in front of him, his eyes processing it a bit faster than his brain is.
Yes, she's here.]
Yeah, yeah I'm good. Just hurts like hell.
[There's a look to his hand, where the blood is. It's not incredibly bad, not gushing certainly, but enough to leave marks on his gloves in light spatters.]
Fuckin' asshole.
Action
Tetsuo did it just because he didn't get what he wanted.
Gogo opens the bag she got from the convenient store, and sets out the armful of first aid supplies she bought. It wasn't even on the normal quality of sports medicine, much less actual care, but what else was she going to do?
She uses the flashlight on her phone to check his eyes for a concussion.]
How are you feeling? [She knows he's feeling like shit, that's beyond a given.]
Action
Stubbornness often coincides with sturdiness.
He watches as she pulls out the supplies, making mental notes on what to get for himself after this for future occurrences. Because...he knows Tetsuo. And this isn't going to be a one time thing. Not with the information he wanted from him.
He doesn't move until she does, slowly reaching an arm over to get the gauze, fiddling with it idly.]
Better.
[There's something to be said about lifted spirits. Even just the sight of first aid was a relief. His eyes, when focused, seem mostly okay, although rather difficult patients as they keep squinting in the light.]
Action
Dizzy? Sick?
[She's seen a fair few head injuries, but her limit to deal with them had always been putting pressure on the wound and keeping the victim awake until the ambulance got there. Definitely something she's going to take classes in as soon as possible.]
Action
Ngh, little nauseous. But only when I move too much.
[Vertigo's a bitch.]
Action
Well stay still for now.
Any pain elsewhere? Anything broken?
Action
Nothing broken. Everything FEELS like normal.
[Skeletons made of figurative titanium. Who knew? A hand reaches up, running along the back of his neck.]
Just sore--oh man, I'm gonna be feeling THAT tomorrow.
Action
[Sorry for the sting, but she needs to disinfect this before wrapping the gauze on it. No warning though, might as well get it over with. She just guards his eyes with a hand and pours.]
Action
Shit!!
[There's a kneejerk reaction to flinch away, some of it getting onto the pavement, but for the most part making it onto the wound.]
What the hell?! Warnings!!
[Kaneda you literally snapped a lamppost in half you can take some DISINFECTANT.]
Action
Lamppost is no big deal but a little sting gets you.
Action
It's different!
[It's not different.]
Action
Sure sure.
[She gives him the water bottle as she presses a patch of gauze to his head.]
Here, drink up, you baby.
[And then she does her best to wrap it. Sorry if it looks weird, but so long as it helps him stop bleeding she doesn't care.]
