Capsule 006 ð (Video) [Locked from Tetsuo]
[It's late at night, well past 11pm when the feed clicks on. At first it doesn't look like anything, a bunch of blackness with one bright light in the distance. It looks like a lamppost...or what's left of one. It seems to have been literally broken in half by impact alone, the metal completely snapped instead of bent, the upper half lying on the sidewalk and facing up. Sparks fly from the base of it, the cord obviously cut there when it was snapped. Whatever hit it...well, it had to be going at an incredible speed.
But the feed turns, towards a closer, brighter lamppost that seems to be intact, Kaneda sitting in front of it on the sidewalk.
Well, you look like you've seen better days, buddy.
He doesn't say anything at first, more so trying to catch his breath as a hand reaches up to his head. Face contorting into a wince as his fingers rake through his hair. When his gloved hand comes out, he looks at it as if he just found a gross bug.
Blood. Even better.]
Dammit.
[Whatever mirth he had in his voice earlier that night from the comm is gone, and the glitter in his eyes is lost. Oh yeah, he was recording, wasn't he. Those eyes turn towards the screen, away from the broken lamppost that he was seemingly fixated on. His voice is low, and some of his words are a little slurred as he tries to make a coherent sentence.]
Don't care who it is, but I need a healer. Or a way back.
[He's not too far from the house, but walking is just not happening.]

[He's not too far from the house, but walking is just not happening.]
Action
Stubbornness often coincides with sturdiness.
He watches as she pulls out the supplies, making mental notes on what to get for himself after this for future occurrences. Because...he knows Tetsuo. And this isn't going to be a one time thing. Not with the information he wanted from him.
He doesn't move until she does, slowly reaching an arm over to get the gauze, fiddling with it idly.]
Better.
[There's something to be said about lifted spirits. Even just the sight of first aid was a relief. His eyes, when focused, seem mostly okay, although rather difficult patients as they keep squinting in the light.]
Action
Dizzy? Sick?
[She's seen a fair few head injuries, but her limit to deal with them had always been putting pressure on the wound and keeping the victim awake until the ambulance got there. Definitely something she's going to take classes in as soon as possible.]
Action
Ngh, little nauseous. But only when I move too much.
[Vertigo's a bitch.]
Action
Well stay still for now.
Any pain elsewhere? Anything broken?
Action
Nothing broken. Everything FEELS like normal.
[Skeletons made of figurative titanium. Who knew? A hand reaches up, running along the back of his neck.]
Just sore--oh man, I'm gonna be feeling THAT tomorrow.
Action
[Sorry for the sting, but she needs to disinfect this before wrapping the gauze on it. No warning though, might as well get it over with. She just guards his eyes with a hand and pours.]
Action
Shit!!
[There's a kneejerk reaction to flinch away, some of it getting onto the pavement, but for the most part making it onto the wound.]
What the hell?! Warnings!!
[Kaneda you literally snapped a lamppost in half you can take some DISINFECTANT.]
Action
Lamppost is no big deal but a little sting gets you.
Action
It's different!
[It's not different.]
Action
Sure sure.
[She gives him the water bottle as she presses a patch of gauze to his head.]
Here, drink up, you baby.
[And then she does her best to wrap it. Sorry if it looks weird, but so long as it helps him stop bleeding she doesn't care.]
Action
But he takes that water, for the most part being cooperative as she starts to wrap his head, sipping from the bottle. No worries on how it looks though, Gogo. He literally can't even see it anyway. He'll assume it's the Sistine Chapel of headwraps.
Kaneda's not too good with saying 'thank you'. You have to be usually given stuff to learn that word. But there is a silent lean towards her, body language showing gratitude where his words can't.]
Action
You feeling okay to walk?
Action;
There's a moment to get his equilibrium.]
Legs still work, THAT'S a good sign!
Action;
[While she doesn't directly help him up, she stayed closed just in case. Wanting to let him do it on his own if he could.]
Stay right there for a moment.
[The other day she'd been so angry she couldn't focus, but tonight was different. She draws in a deep breath and reaches for the other lamppost; concentrates on the buzz of the magnetism on her skin. It was heavier than she'd been practicing with but she manages to lift it back into place and meld it back together.
The light flickers weakly, dimmer than the others, and the metal came together crooked and ugly, but you know what? She did it.
A little lightheaded, she returns to Kaneda's side.]
Alright, let's get you home.
Action;
With his hand still holding the waterbottle, his other arm leans on the stable lamppost. Watching her to see just what she was focusing on. The other lamppost, the one that Kaneda's skull had done battle with and won. When her hand raises, he can feel the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end, intuitively feeling a difference in the air. It could be his possible concussed status, but he certainly feels something off as he watches her, trailing from her hand to the lamppost. Watching as it lifted in the air and started to mend itself back on the base.
A crude effort, but better one than he could have ever done, that's for sure. And credit where credit is due.
Here, have a really impressed whistle.]
And they complain we do nothing to help the people! Look at that, that's right there with saving cats from trees!
[Well, at least his mood skyrocketed.]
Look at you, getting better with that.
Action;
She flexes her hand, then picks up the store bag and her helmet.]
Amazing what you can do when you finally get over yourself, huh?
Come on, we're not far. Get you sat down and resting.
Action;
Amazing was right, as he feels the magnetism fade and the hairs on the back of his neck settle. None of his powers operated like that, so seeing it in action was a little more than surprising. Tetsuo's was always used against him, so seeing something like this, something like Ken's or Riku's or Gogo's was different for him. He never had this. And maybe he was okay with that.
It just made him appreciate it in others more.
He looks at her hand, and then to the lamppost again. Gogo's not the only one who could be amazing once some kinks were worked through...Something about that's inspiring. Something worth fighting for.]
Sounds good to me.
I think I've got an ice pack with my name on it.
...No really. Ken wrote my name on it and everything.
Action;
[She nudges Kaneda towards Nonah 5, standing closer than necessary so she can support him if he needs it.]
So are you okay? [She wasn't talking about the injuries.]
Action;
But at her question, his lip juts out ever so slightly, his shoulders hunched.]
Never been better.
Action;
[It's a harmless chide, with no heat behind it. Just a statement of fact rather than an insistence.]
Action;
He wants to see me lose it, you know.
Action;
[It's too dark to really see the shadow in her expression as she says that. Their couple of conversations had been uncomfortable and tense, approaching topics she'd not wanted to talk about.
i don't know what your hell is
but don't you dare think you're the only one here
It's not an excuse for the way he acts, and it's definitely not forgivable that he treats people the way he does.]
What is so important that you can't tell him?
Action;
[We both have.
And the weight of everything is suddenly much more visible on Kaneda. On a good day, it looked like he didn't have a care in the world. That he had it wrapped around his finger--and if you asked him, he'd agree. But now...Kaneda looks tired. Like he's running a marathon with no end in sight.
One where he can't afford to stop.]
...
[With a sigh, his head tilts back, still a little woozy from the injury, but the cool air felt nice on his neck.]
Something that'll tear him apart.
Action;
It's not until they're approaching the door that she speaks again.]
Do you have your keys?
Action;
It's open. Don't really think Tetsuo locked it on the way out.
[And Charlie's security system was top notch.]
