Point number two: Just ... think of this as one of those ice-breaking exercises. You know the ones where everybody's awkward and doesn't wanna talk but you gotta answer some stupid question? One of those. Just. Just out of idle curiosity: what is your favorite thing about Earth? It can be anything, doesn't matter how small. In fact, it might be the small things that are the most important. Asking for a friend who isn't used to seeing it so ... intact.

[He counts out his fingers to four, thinks again, and subtracts one.]

Aaand number three: gimme the skinny on good places to eat around Maurita Falls? Extra points for good ramen joints. And I mean the real stuff, none of that instant business.

Yeah, by my reckoning I s'pose it does sound kinda zombieish. But I fit that bill in a lot of other 'back from the dead' ways so what's one more for the pile?

You're pretty okay with the idea of being dead. Was Cayde your name before you died too?

That's ancient. Not much chance we've recovered it, but who knows, maybe a Cryptarch is sitting on the data somewhere. Or somewhen, I s'pose.

I do my best not to dwell on it too hard. And yes, I was always named Cayde.

A little personal, but not too much I'd say, seein' how it's common knowledge back home. The number next to an Exo's name is the number of times they've been rebooted.

That's a little morbid, actually. So you've been "rebooted" six times. Is it like waking up with all of your memories or do you have to relearn everything again?

It just sounds like you keep getting dipped into the Styx.

It's a total wipe. Or it's meant to be, but ... some memories stick around, get shuffled out of place and you can't tell when they belong to. Can't say I'm a big fan, which is why I've told everybody I know that if I die my final death and someone finds the Exo tech to repair and reboot ... don't. I stop counting at six.

That's a hard lesson to learn, I've found. People like to cling onto life enough to bring their loved ones back from the dead.

Oh. I'm the son of Hades, Greek God of the Underworld. It's not nearly as impressive as it sounds. [ He sighs. ] It's sometimes difficult to explain. I'm only half-god.

So does demi-godhood have any perks or is it more of a "yeah my family's kinda famous" thing?

We get powers from our parents to an extent. I can raise the dead and travel through shadows which is pretty fun.

But the downside is that monsters really like to hunt us down. I wouldn't call it a perk.
