So, uh... I got kind of a weird question. Bear with me here. Do any of you find that you get memory problems sometimes? I'm not talking, like, when you get ported out and get ported back in and everything just goes poof!, or forgetting where you put down your keys or what have you. More like - there's something important you feel like you're forgetting about.

[ Magnus scratches at his chin. ]

'Cause I swear to god, there's always something I should be doing, but then a second later, it just... [ He gestures vaguely at the camera. ] Shit from when I was in a kid too. It never used to bug me, but this is getting old. So, uh, if any of you know how to fix it or wanna tell me I'm not just crazy, big ups! Burnsides out.

[He gives a one-shoulder shrug. It was rough, but that's not something he wants to dwell on.]

I guess there probably aren't too many people like that guy. [Thankfully.] Do you know anything about what you forgot, or only that you did?

Just that I did. I know, uh, the timeframe, more or less - but I didn't know it until someone else pointed it out.

Hard to tell. Maybe there's a good reason for wanting to make someone forget.

People can want all kinds of things, but there's no good reason to do it. How are you supposed to even know who you are, if you can't remember things?

Maybe that's when people think that whatever it is is worth one person not knowing who they are anymore. But I know enough to know who I am. It's just -- missing things. Fill in the blanks, mad-libs style.

Are you sure you know where all the holes are? I mean, if they were big enough, would you even know they were there?

Just one, but he's, like, nine. Don't get me wrong, he's the smartest person I know - [ he says, without a trace of irony ] - but he's not so great for being able to double check the sort of shit I've lived through.

But you're right. I don't know. And that's the kicker, ain't it?

[Age doesn't make that big a difference. Roxas is like one and a half years old, technically.]

Yeah, that really stinks. I'm sorry. I hope you figure out what you're missing soon.

Thanks, kid. I appreciate that. Even if I don't - well, I've lived with it for this long.

[ He pauses. ]

So. How did all of your shit resolve? You get your memories back or what?

[He nods. There's nothing Roxas can to do help, but still, he hopes this guy has better luck with memories than he did.]

Yeah. I think so. Not like I'd know if I were missing something, right?

Huh. Yeah. Yeah, you're right.

[ He looks thoughtful for a moment. There's something to that, right? It's how it works with the Voidfish, but it could work for him too. He's just not sure how. ]

But that means that at least you know enough that you've filled in all the blanks. That's something. The guy who did it to you changed his mind?

[Roxas laughs. There's no humor to it.]

No. I don't think my memory coming back was something he could control. He just laughed at me.

What an asshole.

So how did you get it back?

Yeah. He was...an asshole.

[He's never used that word before, but it sounds fitting.]

I'm not sure how it started coming back, it just did, in bits and pieces at first. Then all it once. Maybe because I found the spot where they took it away and it triggered something.

Huh. So that's how it works.

[ ... ]

What happened to him anyway?

He got away with it.

Yeah? And how do you feel about that?

I feel like it's really good for him that he hasn't been ported in too.

[ Magnus snorts. ]

Good answer. I know we just met and all, but I don't think I'd mind going a round or two myself.

[That gets a small smile.]

If he ever shows up, I could call you in for backup.

[Except he wouldn't, because he wouldn't need it.]
