[He didn't even get to be home an hour, man. At least his injuries are healed again, but jeez........]

Soooo, do I even wanna know what all I missed?

[His tone rather suggests he doesn't; Kotetsu expects something or another has managed to go horribly awry in the month he's been gone--things have been one disaster after another since May.]

Oi Bunny, Judge Petrov, you guys still around? I'm back in #14 if you wanna talk in person or anything.

[......sorry, Ryan, he's only just had five months of memories crammed back into his head and is kind of freaked out about it tbh, he's kind of forgotten about you as the Dude From His Future.]

Uhhh...right. I'm Kotetsu, by the way. If you didn't, ah, know me before. Not that it...doesn't say that on the thing, anyway, but. Y'know. Introductions, n'all...yeah.

Except it does hurt. It does hurt when you let yourself wish for something and it all goes to shit. That's the thing that hurts more than anything in the world.

[He goes quiet for a little bit, because--it's true, in its own way. Kotetsu thinks it helps more than it hurts, but for someone not used to hoping...he can almost (almost) see where it wouldn't seem worth it.]

...It might not, though. And if you did get sent back, you wouldn't remember anyway, right? You can't be disappointed if you don't realize there was anything to be disappointed about.

[Which is kind of terrifying to Kotetsu himself, due to recent incidents that are now very fresh in his memory, but maybe it might be a reassurance to Jesse.]

[That is literally a nightmare scenario Kotetsu just described there.]

[How did he make that worse. How on earth was it even possible to make this worse??? Kotetsu just sort of stares helplessly at his screen for a minute, before he turns it over and makes a muffled, frustrated sound into his hands. This is a disaster. A complete disaster. He has no idea how to even begin digging himself out of this hole.]



....Could we just, rewind like five minutes to before I made an ass of myself? [Groan.]

[This is one of those things said with such complete earnesty that you might think for a moment or two that you're being fucked with, before you realize that no, it's completely 100% serious.]

However, Kotetsu also doesn't know what he's saying. What he's wishing for there. Jesse would love to take the guy by the shoulders and scream at him, get it through his head that some people have done too much and gone too far to be granted the things they want. It would be more than unfair - it'd be unjust.

He can't do that, so he sighs and seethes internally.]
