[ Some might remember the last time they saw Sabrina she was living in the empty Spellman Mortuary, but the view on the screen today reveals she's returned to her assigned government housing in Maurtia Falls #001. Not that she had wanted to leave her "home", but with it disappearing altogether on her there was very little choice in the matter.

Her expression is contemplative, a low hum can be heard before she speaks. ]

For those of you that come from worlds where you were born with magic— uh, or I guess were given magic powers here...? [ She shakes her head, staring off to the side as her train of thought is derailed. ] Sorry, what I just want to ask is if there's anyone who would be willing to help me hone my own magic?

[ She's had quite a bit to think about since the Diomuhr fiasco. Sorry for nearly getting some people killed. ]

I'm wondering if there's anyone whose magic is primarily based on incantations and is adept at conjurations, too. Since my arrival I've learned that there are so many kinds of magic, something I honestly didn't know much about back home. I'm hoping I could practice alongside someone whose magic is similar to mine.

[ While Sabrina's opened up more about her witch powers, she's never made a public announcement like this before. It's almost surreal. ]

So if there are other witches, that would be helpful, but it doesn't necessarily have to be a witch. Seems like magic comes in all shapes and forms across the universes and still operates similarly in some places.

I don't doubt that, I just wonder about our powers working in conjunction, if that makes sense?

[ Looking at the ID now. Chilton. Never spoken to this guy before, but somehow the name seems familiar, like she's heard it elsewhere in passing. ]

[slightlyoffchilt]

Like -- communing? With each other? More powerful in numbers?

[A bit cheekily:] Like a coven?

[melodramagic]

Strength in numbers is usually the case back home. The more power drawn from a group of witches, the stronger your spell can be.

[ An airy laugh, amused he's right on the nose. ]

There are covens, yes.

[slightlyoffchilt]

So you are of the mind that the same logic might apply. [He pauses. And then, thoughtfully:] I cannot say that I know of anyone who has. So it isn't... absurd.

[melodramagic]

[ Tilting her head. ]

I'd like to think not. If magic can function differently across the many worlds out there, it doesn't seem far-fetched to think there's still a way for the magics to work together.

[ A pause. ]

Like the core of it is relatively similar. Maybe.

[ Because she needs to grow in her power. That way she won't make mistakes again. ]

[slightlyoffchilt]

And you want the core to maintain some similarity. Or else you wouldn't be making these inquiries.

[He's stating for the sake of baseline. For context.]

What would you have these individuals perform?

[melodramagic]

I want to practice conjuration some more. Demonology, too.

[ Her tone is casual, brushing it off like this isn't higher magic she's messing with.

Maybe Sabrina didn't learn her lesson. ]

Things I was already studying back home.

[ Slight fib as she wasn't permitted into Demonology. ]

[slightlyoffchilt]

[He doesn't speak for a moment, thinking over her statement -- that doesn't seem right, but he doesn't know enough about demonology to contradict. He's met literal devils and demons, but hardly ever touched any academic body of work about them, so...]

Well, that seems logical to me. Sorry to say the demons I once kept acquaintance with have long since gone, otherwise I would direct you to them.

[melodramagic]

Wait, you were acquainted with actual demons?

[ Sabrina has her reasons for studying Demonology, but befriending them isn't part of it. ]

They never harmed you?

[slightlyoffchilt]

Oh, no -- well, one made the attempt. The other was under my employ so I imagine that he was not... so inclined to pinch his paycheck, so to speak.

[And perhaps all too characteristically, he didn't sound all too worried when he really probably should have been.]

[melodramagic]

One worked for you?

[ There's a renewed interest in Sabrina's eyes as she regards Chilton carefully this time. ]

But you're not a warlock, judging from your responses... are you?

[slightlyoffchilt]

No, I am most certainly not a warlock. I graduated from Harvard.

[melodramagic]

I'm sorry, do I know you? Or... maybe we haven't met, but your name sounds familiar.

[slightlyoffchilt]

Doctor Chilton, Doctor Frederick Chilton. I am head administrator of the Maurtia Falls Psychiatric Hospital for Abnormal Conditions, you've probably seen me in the news media?

[melodramagic]

Oh.

[ It clicks into place. ]

You're right, that's where I think I've heard the name.

And... oh, yes, I think that's where one of my housemates works. Fortunato?

[slightlyoffchilt]

One of my most trusted and dedicated employees. [He pauses, before:] You get along with him, do you?

[melodramagic]

Of course. Fortunato's been a great friend to me.

[slightlyoffchilt]

I am relieved to hear that. He needs a support system. Especially here.

[melodramagic]

[ She pauses then, somewhat concerned. ]

Has he said something? Fortunato's a pretty quiet person, so we don't talk a lot about those sort of things.

[ He's so secretive. ]

[slightlyoffchilt]

I have known him for months now, nearly a year. He does not necessarily feel comfortable... speaking. About it.

[melodramagic]

I don't want him to feel as if he can't. We've been living together for months, too.

[ She hesitates initially to say anything, but then quietly she adds: ]

Besides, he's already helped me with something, so I'll always want to return the favor.

[slightlyoffchilt]

Ah. [He reads her as sincere, and particularly compassionate. That alone influences his following words.] Well... I would just advise. Being gentle. Which I would assume you had in mind already.

But he isn't one for surprises.

[melodramagic]

Surprises such as...?

[slightlyoffchilt]

Loud noises, sharp movements, big changes in the weather, difficult news. Anything really.

[melodramagic]

... are you sure about that? You're making him sound fragile.
