Soooooooooooooooo. I feel like a lot of times when we post on here it's something serious, or someone left, someone arrived, you get it. And honestly, I've got no problem with that cause it makes sense! But how about some more icebreakers?

FanPort got me thinking cause obviously all the locals are crazy about superheroes, and even non-superheroes, but what about you guys? If you come from a world with superheroes like me, you've got a pretty good head start on everyone else. Still, everyone's probably got some kind of hero, right?

And now I'm sure you're wondering, "Stephanie, who is your favorite superhero?"

Well, drumroll please...

[The drumroll is so she can think of a good answer. It's not working.]

Uh. I had a poster of Superboy when I was in high school. Wait, is Superboy here? I just realized how weird this could potentially get...

I'm from a world with super heroes, too! I guess it would probably be cheating if I said my favourite heroes were my team, huh? [ There's a tinkling little laugh. ] Since I don't want to cheat, I should probably choose from the heroes I haven't met yet!

[ There's a little bit of silence, then a small 'hmmmm'. ]

I think I would most like to meet the Mariner! He's one of Florida's longest working heroes, and I hear he's a really great guy! A lot of the members of the adult Hero League of our state have gotten to meet him, but the Illinois Junior League members like myself don't usually get to meet with adult heroes from that far across the country. There have been some whispers about him retiring, so I might not get to meet him... But it would be nice if I did!

[ She sounds so excited, and honestly interested in the idea, and for once genuinely is. The Mariner was certainly a hero to look up to in a world with a lot of heroes. At least, to her he was. ]

That's true! I just wouldn't know it's him. We don't usually know the civilian identities of anyone we don't go through training with, you see. It's a safety precaution! That said, maybe if he retires, he'll come to visit this state and I'll get to meet him that way.

Wellll, sometimes. But sometimes no. Most retired heroes only come in as tactical advisers, and the occasional trainer, but aside from that they don't make many appearances. There are a few examples of heroes who use their former identity as a way to get into a new job, but it doesn't seem likely that he'll do that.

The majority of retirees just try to live normal lives, only coming out to fight when things get really tough.
