[ It's traditional, when asking simple, broad questions to the Network to do so in a text post but that's not nearly melodramatic enough for the Outsider.

He's in the desert in the outskirts of Jeopardy, night has fallen and he's looking not at the communicator but up at the stars. There's some faeries nearby he's bribed to leave him alone with pizza, but they make it cold enough you can see his breath glittering on the air. ]

The places you come from are varied, where even the things that you take for granted may be different here, or for other imPorts. Even this reality is changing week to week.

With that in mind, I have a question for you.

[ Now he turns to look at the comm, eyes empty and black. He tilts his head. ]

What do you think makes a god a god?

Look, the idea of the world getting destroyed and humanity being reduced to their inner selves sounded great until my dumb ass ended up missing a massive chunk of time that apparently involved me getting possessed by a giant eyeball.

...not that that was the only thing that changed my mind, but it was a pretty big contribution.

You have to be careful with giant eyes. They may make you see what you shouldn't have seen.

[ But this is all, at least, vaguely interesting. ]

Is it so wrong to want to change the world?

...that was a terrible pun. You should be proud.

[ Adachi let out a sigh after that. ]

Not really, no. It's just how you go about doing it that can be good or bad.

You thought you were doing it well, until you realized you weren't. Was that really the god's fault?

Well, whatever god it was, it didn't help in my decision making process.

[ Not, that... that was great back then to begin with... but details. ]

But were the choices you made still yours, in the end?

Like I said, they didn't help. But yeah, ultimately the decision was mine.
