Hello, imPorts. Today, I'm here to talk to you about the importance of being a hero.

It's right there, isn't it?

[He claps his hands together to punctuate the word and grins.]

You are important, here, to this world as one of its heroes. Like The Avengers or The Justice League, every one of you has or was given some special skills to make you unique and to make you a hero.

It doesn't matter if you don't believe it now. You will. You were brought here for a purpose and you must all act accordingly. It doesn't matter what you did in your past. What counts is the here and the now and moving forward!

Maybe you're already making great strides to help. Maybe you're new and lost. Either way, you are important and a hero and always keep that in mind. With evey action. With every interview. You are the public face of imPorts; all of you!

Be the best hero that you can be and together we can prevail. We will overcome any threat. Break through any boundary. Foil any nefarious scheme. Believe in yourself, and believe in the people around you.

We will win this fight; whatever fight comes our way. Maybe through negotiations. Maybe through physical force. No matter what your power or skillset, you can use it to your best advantage. Your best power is right up here.

[He taps the side of his head.]

Your mind. Your will. Your belief in yourself and in others.

Keep hold of that and you will succeed.

[He looks pleased, pausing a moment before adding.]

That sob story sounds like a bunch of shit, too. And it's not even the whole story, just the surface.

So you just kick people to the curb because they're difficult and dealing with a whole lot of shit? I can't remember the last time anyone spared me their sympathy. I don't really expect it from anyone anymore.

[ His jaw tightens visibly. ] Fear of dying, sure. Yeah.

Listen. We got off on the wrong foot. I had arrived here not long before you did and there's a lot to figure out and I've already had to deal with many abrasive personalities here.

But if you want to, we can start again. This time with less insults.

I could help you, you know. Calm those fears. Not rid yourself of them, but make them not defeat you.

[ Murphy licks his lips, thinking. Without hesitation, he asks: ] Have you ever tried to kill someone?

In my line of work... Yes, that has happened.

Oh yeah? Tell me about your line of work. Do you get to choose who's good enough to live or die?

I'm trying to help the world. For that to happen, sometimes people get caught up in a dangerous situation and bad things happen. Whether you want them to or not.

Other heroes have made difficult decisions on such life or death decisions, and so have I.

[Kind of a vague answer in many ways.]

Trying to help the world gets the world blown up. Trying to help the world gets people floated. People do bad shit and tell everyone they're just trying to save their people.

I know that well. The Avengers fought many threats then one came that they were not prepared for and maybe was brought on by their deeds.

Then the world was torn apart, billions dead. Gone in an instant.

The Avengers again assembled and attempted to right the wrongs. They did so - years later, in their own way and by their own rules and people were restored. But at a cost. There's always a cost.

That's what it means to be a hero.

[None of that grim reality was in his little pep talk.]

So I get it. People can ruin things, even when they're trying to help.

Who the hell are The Avengers?

People ruin things because they want to be on top and they'll kill whoever means shit to them. If your useless, you're going to wind up on the bottom of someone's boot.

They're a team of heroes. Some of them are here. Some of them were here, but no longer.

[mofi]

A team of superheroes. That's rich. So what are you going to do now? Have a congregation with people who want to be heroes?

No. I'm through inspiring people for the day.
