Hello, imPorts. Today, I'm here to talk to you about the importance of being a hero.

It's right there, isn't it?

[He claps his hands together to punctuate the word and grins.]

You are important, here, to this world as one of its heroes. Like The Avengers or The Justice League, every one of you has or was given some special skills to make you unique and to make you a hero.

It doesn't matter if you don't believe it now. You will. You were brought here for a purpose and you must all act accordingly. It doesn't matter what you did in your past. What counts is the here and the now and moving forward!

Maybe you're already making great strides to help. Maybe you're new and lost. Either way, you are important and a hero and always keep that in mind. With evey action. With every interview. You are the public face of imPorts; all of you!

Be the best hero that you can be and together we can prevail. We will overcome any threat. Break through any boundary. Foil any nefarious scheme. Believe in yourself, and believe in the people around you.

We will win this fight; whatever fight comes our way. Maybe through negotiations. Maybe through physical force. No matter what your power or skillset, you can use it to your best advantage. Your best power is right up here.

[He taps the side of his head.]

Your mind. Your will. Your belief in yourself and in others.

Keep hold of that and you will succeed.

[He looks pleased, pausing a moment before adding.]

[He's certainly noticed that Peter gets a lot of attention.]

How many do you really know well enough to trust?

[ He sure did. That first network post of his got completely mobbed. ]

I - I've made a couple. And I trust a couple of them.

[Yes, he's asking directly for names. Although he isn't certain Peter will flat out tell him.]

[ Wow, Beck. You get points for boldness. ]

You're seriously asking me that?

I get it. You don't trust me but I could have information that you don't.

A lot of people seem very interested in you. They know about Spider-Man from other worlds and who knows how many of them may have ulterior motives for approaching you?

People have directly told me that I'm Spider-Man's enemy.

[ That's ... both not surprising and surprising at the same time. Hell, he can even picture who some of those people are. But ulterior motives, really? He can't picture that.

(But now that Mysterio's put it in his head, he can't help but think about it. Is it possible someone would try to cozy up like that? Not his current friends, but someone else...) ]

Some names I'm afraid I didn't catch.

One named David was particularly aggressive in protecting you though.

[ He is aware of the irony, okay. But Beck gets information too; mostly he gets a distinct lack of surprise from Peter at that name. Yeah, that was one of the ones he was thinking about... ]

He knew a different me. Back home. Not closely, but enough to worry.

And you blindly think that's OK. Just because he may know another version of you.

Somebody else said that the Mysterio they knew owned a carnival and I certainly don't, so there are vast differences and just because someone is friends with another you, shouldn't automatically mean they are friends here.

Besides the fact that they're likely projecting their feelings about the person they know on to you, which is hardly fair.

[ Peter reddens a little at that. "Friend" would have been a bit too nice of a descriptor; Peter got the sense that the alternate version of himself wasn't especially nice, or at least he'd fallen into the same mutant prejudice trap as a lot of people did in that world. But he doesn't want to get into those particular details with Beck. ]

It's not blind. I'm meeting people and having relationships whether or not they knew me.

[ But, well. It sure has only been two weeks. He's uncomfortable because Beck has a point, as self-centered as it might be. ]

I just want you to be careful.

I know it may sound ridiculous coming from me and what I put you through but we made a deal, right? I'm being honest with you here, Peter, and I like you and I don't want somebody else taking advantage of your good nature.

You may not believe it now, but if you ever need my help, you call on me and I will have your back.

[ He really, really doesn't believe that. But. He'd rather this not end badly. Or if it does, it's damn well not gonna be his fault. ]

And I'll help you out too if something nuts is happening. I don't actually want you to get hurt either.

[As of this moment, he does mean it. But with Beck and his instability, that's always subject to change.]

I know you will. You're a good kid. Always selflessly helping out.

And I want to do good here. If you help me with that, then great. We can do good together.
