There have been some more... informal polls online lately. [ She's looking at you, Bow... ] For once, I have a more serious question to ask.

I've been giving a lot of thought to what I'm going to do with my time here. So far, I've been assigned the job of Flight Instructor at Heropa Airfield, which... Don't get me wrong, it fits. I can do it. But it's not exactly what I've been training my whole life to do. Back home, a... while ago, admittedly... I was in the Air Force. And I heard that imPorts can join the Air Force here, but there's a caveat: They need to be registered first.

I've been here a couple months now, but I haven't registered yet, because I don't know how I should feel about the government having my name on a list. That's why I'm coming to you, for... advice, I guess? Opinions?

Should I register? Should I not? What are the pluses and minuses to each option?

[ Okay, that's enough sincerity for one afternoon. Carol's face breaks out in a sarcastic grin. ]

Some Unsettled heroes and I had a lead on an OTO hideout in Brazil. We travelled there and took the base out, easy, but we were all arrested on our return...

The official charge was leaving America. Going AWOL. Never mind the fact that we took out a terrorist base, they didn't like the fact that a bunch of heroes who didn't want to sign on the dotted line left the country to fight crime.

Do what you have to, Carol. [ He shrugs. ] If flying for the military is important to you, then that's the only way to make it happen. I'm not going to talk you out of your dream job here.

But honestly? With your power set you could be a full time hero. You don't need a fighter jet for that.

My dream job would be to go home and keep fighting for the freedom of the Skrull people from Kree oppression. But I guess I'd settle for Air Force test pilot.

[ She still isn't sure about being a full time "superhero." Her Earth didn't have those. Her whole career, she's been one kind of military or other, until she went rogue from Starforce. ]

I don't think I've heard of those groups. I'm guessing that's a non-Earth rebellion?

More of an outright war than a rebellion, but yes. The Kree destroyed the Skrull homeworld, then spun the propaganda to paint them as vicious invaders. When really they're just trying to find a new place to live.
