What can you heal and are there any side effects, to yourself or to others?

Does your healing have any effects on you or the other person?

Yes, and that's why I was asking. To see if others were experiencing the same problems.

So far it seems others have little to no side effects.

What kind of effects are you experiencing?

From what it stated in my file - and the one experience I had here - it seems that if I try to heal somebody, I will take partial damage myself.

The example I tried was a man had cut his hand. I healed it but the wound appeared on my hand instead, just not as bad. I'm not sure yet of the extent of how much I can heal or how much I'd be injured in the process. It did say that I couldn't heal diseases or cure death. So I believes it will work only for injuries, possibly internal as well as external.

By taking away someone else's pain, it becomes yours.

[ Her face screws up quickly at this. ]

That's horrifying! What kind of sick twist is that?

Like I said, I never had any powers before but that's what I have now.

You aren't thinking about using it again, are you? I understand wanting to help, but that sort of thing can do a lot of damage to you.

If somebody needed my help and there was no medical unit or hospital around? I wouldn't hesitate.

[He means that too. He's often put his life at risk for others.]

If I only take half the damage then both of us can make it. Dealing with an injury is never pleasant but if it meant I saved somebody's life, then I have no choice.

Then who heals you?

It says I can heal myself. In a way.

Any more life threatening injuries can be relocated. Such as a gunshot to the chest could be moved to an arm or leg.

At least in theory, that's what it says in my file.

I have no real way to test this without purposefully injuring myself.

How about if you heal someone and take on their injury, call me up and I'll come heal you?

Kind of jumping back to that doppelganger thing, but I know what it's like to have someone with the same face as you. I also know how annoying it is.

The only magic in my world is done by magicians. On stage or TV or whatever.
