Her inflection runs a little dry, events of the past couple of days and trying to get her bearings weighing upon her shoulders. To arrive in a world that's officially on a Doomsday Clock isn't the welcome party she wanted. ]

I'm trying to get this straight: one of the Moirai is on her way to potentially devour this world, but in the meantime one of her other sisters is going to keep bringing us in and the soldiers on base are kind of raising their arms up in defeat over it. That's thrilling.

I'm not waiting but I can't do anything on my own.

You said your power has side effects? What do you mean?

[detectivedwloki]

When I heal somebody else, I receive the injury myself in the same place but to a lesser degree. In the field, it is something that I may be limited to do unless another healer or medic is on hand to heal me in turn.

That doesn't sound safe to use at all.

I certainly can't use it casually. But it's useful for emergencies.

And then you become the emergency.

I can also relocate injuries on myself, so anything life threatening can be... moved. But I'd still be injured. It's inconvenient but it may save another's life.

[He sounds determined. He'd certainly use this power to help others, at personal risk.]

You seem surprisingly... calm regarding this, though.

You can't panic in my line of work. You have to keep a level head.

[And he tends to push down his own emotions to keep that surface calm. His odd tic of occasional rapid blinking is a giveaway when he's becoming more stressed though.]

Did you ever think you'd be dealing with the apocalypse?

Not in such a literal sense.

... so where is this showdown supposed to take place? Does the local populace know something is coming? The soldiers do.

The general thought is it will be centred around the spider church in Jeopardy, I think. But nothing is certain.
