[Max is sitting on an office chair and lazily spinning around on what appears to be a stage. He's wearing the equivalent of BK's crown.]

Employees are the greatest invention ever! These humans don't acknowledge Inhuman royalty, but they'll still cater to my every whim.

[He indicates to whoever is holding the communicator to pan over to a bunch of people standing around and fanning or feeding a very large bulldog. They look like they're only tolerating this for their pay-cheque. A snap of his fingers has the camera back on him.]

But I put forward a question to my fellow refugees, name a show with sufficient amount of explosions so these won't go to waste.

[He finally stands up and claps his hands twice. The wall behind him explodes and the camera drops to the ground as people scream and run out evidently deciding this is not worth the money. Max comes back into view as he stands over it.]

Hmm, less loyal than I hoped. That was only a very small one too.

[And then he bends down to pick it up and the video ends.]

[Playing bodyguard for Skye really shouldn't be more difficult than being a bodyguard for a meth kingpin, and yet here they are, standing across the road from an explosion. Kara had held back, keeping an eye out, but seeing Skye talking animatedly with a man has her hackles up, and she makes her way over like the chaos isn't even there.]

Let's let the authorities handle this one, kid.

[Her hand brushes Skye's arm briefly, a small gesture of reassurance, as Kara subtly angles herself between Max and Skye, just in case.]

[Skye isn't even sure if the bomb did hurt people-- she just assumes it did, on account of it being A BOMB and PEOPLE SCREAMING. She fumbles momentarily for an answer, and focuses on Kara instead.]

Kara, we are the authorities. That's what they called us here to do! Keep the peace.

[madpretender]

[While they're discussing what to do with him Max takes the time to straighten his paper crown while eyeing them. This newcomer is clearly the more physically capable of the two and if things were going to escalate he was out of there.]

I am doing the job I was assigned to as well!

[Encouraging the view that he was unstable looked like the most viable option. People were less inclined to pummel someone not in their right mind.]

[WOW RUDE. I'm totally physically capable!! Sort of.]

Really. You're telling me the government told you to blow things up.

[Kara isn't people, but luckily she isn't interested in starting a fight.]

It's the government's problem. We're here to look good to the public.

[The rest doesn't matter, not right now, when someone she needs to look after could get hurt.]

[He holds a finger up.]

Special effects! And follow her advice, I am not your problem.

Special effects don't leave people screaming and running away.

[To Kara:]

We should at least stay here until the authorities arrive. Make sure he stays put.

[Kara gives Skye a sharp look in warning, barely even acknowledging Max.]

Then I'll stay, you go home.

[It isn't the best option, but it could be worse.]

... Kara. I can handle myself. I'm an agent. Stop treating me like a kid.

[While they're arguing, he picks himself up and starts poking around. He can't remember where he put everything so he wants to track them down before they confiscate it or something.]

She is clearly an adult.

[He's still going to interject though.]

[and therefore breakable and why are they still here.

Kara glares at Max.]

How 'bout you leave before the cops show up and decide to throw your ass in jail?

What. You're just going to give him a free pass?

[madpretender]

[He dusts off a bit of circuitry. It's another bomb and he sticks it into his pocket so he can look for more.]

I vote for the free pass. This is a democracy, yes?

He's an imPort, the cops'll find him if he's really trouble.

[And judging by the look she shoots Max, she doesn't think it's a democracy.]

And how do you think the cops are going to deal with him? They're not equipped for all this... powers crap.

Was told I could jump in?

[hydraated]

[Ward has opted for try and do something- since the guy's clearly causing damage and the police...don't seem to be jumping in. Isn't that what they're supposed to be doing? Stopping things like this?

He makes a grab for the man's hands, unaware of his audience. For the moment.]

[Max had been content to let another player in, but when Ward makes a grab for him he twists away and blasts a mental command of 'don't touch'. However anyone with experience with him and mental intrusions would be able to shrug it off easily enough while those unfamiliar or caught off guard would have a harder time, but it wasn't impossible. Either way he should have the time to squirm away.]

You brought a cop.

[He's outraged by this turn of events.]

[Kara's demeanor shifts instantly from "vaguely annoyed" to "ready to stab a bitch" as soon as she sees Ward, her hand drifting to where there's a gun tucked into the back of her jeans.]

He ain't with us, and he ain't a fucking cop.

[She's ignoring Ward right now; or at least she isn't going to talk to him, but she's still paying close attention to what he might do.]

You gonna listen to me now, Skye?

[There's no way this isn't going to end badly.]
