[ The viewpoint spins very slowly and smoothly, not showing a face but a tree, the bark, a branch, a nest. Occasionally tiny fuzzy grey heads stick out over the nest, and their squawking can be heard. The nestlings are grey and white, with pin feathers and a couple have a crest. Someone is studying a nest of blue jays. ]

I’m pretty sure there is a parent around, but only pretty sure. I don’t really know what they are either. Some kind of bird but? Are they going to be alright? They keep yelling.

[ Help a new import out? ]

Which isn’t what I was thinking about saying, but they caught my attention. Anyway, I’ve been filled in, including being told I was here before, even if I don’t remember.

[ With that Anakin pulls the device closer to him, turning it to record him. He’s young, the scar over his face fresh and his hair is very short – he’s only recently knighted and had his braid cut, and his hair is still very short from the more traditional haircut. And his smile is not quite confident, even shy. ]

My name’s Anakin Skywalker, I’ve been here a couple days now. And um, so you need a ‘driver’s license’ I’ve been told. How many of you have gotten one, how did you do it? I’ve been a pilot all my life, these cars have to be easier than a ship. Even a speeder.

I'm not sure how to explain it well but it's a body that the Orokin built specifically for the Tenno. We were dangerous when they found us, with no control over our powers. The Warframes can withstand the Void and we can control the Warframes, something they couldn't do.

I suppose it would easier to show you?

I. I think it might be. Can it be shown over this device? Or better in person?

[ He's not able to today - or really, he is, just unwilling. Not when Padmé is here. ]

It can be. One moment.

[She turns off her camera for a moment while she sets up a spot to prop it up and then starts it up again and steps back.]

Tenno are mostly human. But to help us, Margulis created a system called Transference. Where were tranfer ourselves, our consciousness, into surrogates. [For a moment, she stands there and then she seems to vanish. In the same instant. Zephyr Prime replaces her where she stood, a good foot taller than she was.]

This is just one of many Warframes that we Tenno make use of. [The voice is the same but there's a synthesized tone over top of it.] Zephyr Prim. Light, yet deceivingly lethal.

[And just as easily, the Tenno seems to step out of the Warframe.] A surrogate.

[ Anakin leans forward, chin on his elbow, elbow on his knee, studying. He wants to look at it with the Force, see what is happening that can't be seen through a video. But that is for another day. ]

That's wizard.

It's... what?

I can't really explain the science of it, Margulis was an Archimedian and we were just kids. And someone else made the 'frames.

[kraythero]

It's slang from where I grew up. Means really neat?

[notyuvan]

Oh, I see. I guess I'm not to great with slang. I'll have to spend more time with the vent kids next time I visit Fortuna.

It'll probably be completely different. The other Padawans at the Temple had very different slang than the kids in the Quarters on Tatooine.

[notyuvan]

I guess it goes without saying that I don't know what those are or Tatooine but I can probably make a few guesses.

I don't really remember if we used any slang before, but I'll get used to it.

[kraythero]

Padawans are Jedi Apprentices. Tatooine is a planet, I lived there when I was little.

I think most people do of some kind?

Oh, I see.

I suppose they do. It's taking some getting used to. I hope you'll help me with some of it.

With picking up slang? Sure! Languages come fairly easily to me.

[notyuvan]

I appreciate it. I never really bothered learning any other languages when I was... younger. [Ish.]

[kraythero]

It's a useful skill, especially if you live or are commonly in areas with more than one language used. Hutesse and Basic were what was spoken most often on Tatooine.

[notyuvan]

I usually understand everyone I come in contact with. I don't speak grineer but I don't really need to either.

[Regor has at least been very civil about that. Then again, he can't insult her as effectively if she doesn't understand.]

You're not wrong though.

How do you understand everyone? Do they have a general language they all use or something else?

Most people speak a general language. The Grineer are pretty stubborn about it, unless they're from Steel Meridian. Or defecting.
