[It had taken him a few tries to get his video to work without the awkward shuffling of trying to get himself properly in frame or the audio cutting in abruptly as he mistimed the start of the recording (it looked like a iPhone, but it certainly didn't act like one). But he finally manages, a smiling face--albeit a little strained--greeting the camera.]

Hello everyone. Well...uh, my name is Makoto Tachibana and I am new here it seems. I don't exactly understand what is going on and [There's a pause, and Makoto can be seen wringing his wrist a bit.] I was told that if I wanted to know more, or get a real feel of what my purpose for being here is that the communicators were the best place to start. I wish I could be a little more specific with what I need help with, but everything has been confusing so I don't really know where to even begin. So...sorry about that.

[The smile twists into an embarrassed grimace, and a strained chuckle huffs from his lungs.]

Also...if anyone could direct me to a hardware shop in the city...uh, I would really appreciate that as well! I'm in Residence...026, if that helps. Thank you again.

[He had already broken two doorknobs and one of the drawers to his dresser, and it would be nice to maybe fix them before his apparent roommates came home. Or at least he was pretty sure other people were living here with him as well.]

I don't know what there is to tell though? There's not really anything special about me that would warrant me being brought into this...program? Hero service??

I was just a swimmer. I started a swim club with my friends in Iwatobi, we made it to nationals with our relay and...I guess that's the only real thing of note? Otherwise life has been pretty normal up to this point.

Now I supposedly have all these powers and this "super strength" which is why I need to go to the hardware store...I think I may have broken my roommate's door.

I don't really blame you on the confusion part. I've had a lot of transitions myself, but I think that you can adapt. I know it's been tough for me, too.

[Makoto looks relieved that he doesn't seem to be the only one confused, and he smiles a little brighter.]

It's really nice to meet you, Fulcrum. It's really a lot to take in all at once...

[...and pauses again, remembering his embarrassing accidents with a sheepish look.]

Uh. Well, I'm not really used to these new powers I have so! Um. I broke a few...things. A couple doorknobs and my drawers. I was hoping to try to fix them.

[He laughs sheepishly.]

Trust me, I know all about accidentally breaking things because of your powers. I had to learn the hard way. I, uh. I kinda blow things up when I touch them, but I've been learning how to control them.

So I'll send you some information on a place I've been going to since I've had to replace so much stuff.

[Rei jumps when he sees who's on the network. He's not fond of the idea of more of his friends being brought to this weird place, exactly, but he's missed Makoto, and he knows that Haru has missed him, too, even if he was trying to be secretive about it.

So he looks pretty happy when he replies, beaming at the camera.]

Makoto-senpai! You're here too!

[The look on Makoto's face is nothing less than ecstatic and grateful as there was so much to take in that he never even thought of the possiblity that any of his friends could be in this weird place with him.]

Rei! I should be the one saying that, I never expected to find anyone I knew here!

[The tension in his shoulders finally eases, feeling the most relaxed since he first ended up in this place. Smiling or not, he couldn't help but feel out of his element before seeing Rei.]

It's so good to see you though, Rei! I've been so frazzled at all this new information that I don't think my brain is handling everything so well...and these powers, I can't even believe stuff like this was possible!

[He understands - it made his head swim too, when he first arrived. He's a little bothered by how quickly he got used to it, really, but it's not like be had much choice.]

I'm willing to answer any questions you have! [Just leave it to your friendly neighborhood kohai!] I've been here a few months. I've learned a lot about this place in that time. It's not really that bad, just... different.

[Because of the tattoos, Haruka checks the network far more often than he would otherwise. In fact, he quite often just leaves his communicator at home on his nightstand. A shocking development, truly.

Today is one of those days. Haruka doesn't have his communicator, but he's on the mental network, idly skipping by certain posts and reading others, listening to others, watching vi--

[He's actually here... Waited a whole month to get here, but he's here.

Haruka doesn't even try to examine what he feels about this. All he knows is that he's relieved and happy to see his friend. That's all that matters.]

[Rei was surprising enough, but seeing his childhood friend is even more so. His brows raise in shock, but a gentle smile washes over his features soon enough, letting out a little laugh.]

Haru! I didn't expect to see you here.

[The relieved look Haru is giving him is very clear, but Makoto is momentarily confused as to why Haru would look relieved. Had he been gone a while?]

I'm in my...new apartment I guess? Residence 026 they said. I haven't really had a chance to leave yet, and I'm afraid I would just get lost if I did! Have you been here a while?

It's easier and much less exhausting to you if you ask your questions first, I think.

But the basis is that we were brought to this world by the Porter and give abilities or powers. With them, the idea is for us to become super-heroes, like in... comic books, yes.

It is probably easier if I just think of questions. Sorry for asking so much at once. But that is a helpful way of thinking of it...even if it's hard to wrap my head around. I didn't think things like this were possible....

[Makoto tilts his head, letting out a long hum as he tries to even single out one question in his mass confusion. Where was he supposed to begin when the whole concept of this place was huge question?]

I mean, so we were brought here to be heroes? And given powers to be able to do that, I guess? It seems like such a long stretch for...

[He pauses, trying to think of how to phrase how he feels. If there were so many people from different places here, wouldn't there be someone...more qualified for the job than him?]

...well, I just don't know why I was brought here in the first place to be honest.

That's what they've told us. They say there's no rhyme or reason to who they bring, but there's a lot of groups of people that are comin from the same places, so whether you choose to believe what they say is up to you.

[He shrugs.]

There's been plenty of opportunities for heroics since I got here, but no one forces you into any of it. You can either register or not, and if you don't you lose your benefits. Real nice of them, right?
