[The feed opens to Aerith, standing far enough back from her comm in Nonah 06's backyard, so all of her is in frame.]

Hi, everyone! I'm looking for someone who can help me with a new weapon. Here's what I have now.

[The reason for the extra background space comes into view: Aerith's usual staff. Six feet long, and therefore decently bigger than herself, visibly heavy from the way she moves it around, and unnecessarily decorated and dramatic.]

It's fine for fights that I know I'm going to be in [like missions], but I need something easier to carry day to day. It would have to be smaller and lighter, so I'm gonna need something collapsible. It's also gonna need to be modified to fit these.

[And here she pops something out of the shaft of her staff and holds it up to the camera: a glowing orb no bigger than a ping pong ball.]

This is materia. It's how we use magic on my world. Lately I've been thinking I should keep them with me all of the time. There's a lot of trouble going on lately... I can't get caught unarmed again...

... So, let me know if you can help!

[ Mint's sitting at a table, filming herself and...obviously a bit huffy, though she's trying to hide said huffyness. There's a teacup in view, just off to the side. ]

Good afternoon. My name is Mint Aizawa and it seems I am a new arrival in this world also. Of course, I have plenty of questions, as to be expected.

Question number one: I've seen some information about 'welcome to this world' but I have not seen any sort of pamphlet about welcome to America. If anyone could answer my questions about America, I would greatly appreciate it. Question number two: who is in charge of furnishing the houses? While I suppose I can live in a house this small, the furnishings are remarkably sub-par. I think these pillows are poly-fill.

[ 'poly-fill' said in the same tone as one would say 'radioactive'. And yeah, Mint hasn't registered the whole "housemates" thing, sorry other residents of De Chima #2 ]

My final question, who do I talk to about these powers we were assigned? The power they gave me was... [ a bad joke, but Mint doesn't really want to explain WHY ] ...well, it's nonsensical!

[ She pauses, takes a sip of the tea, takes a deeep breath, then continues. ]

That shall be all, I suppose. Thank you in advance.

[Lex has spent the better part of the day perusing the network. Learning the news of this place. Reading, watching, listening. Seeing the faces and names of those present. Experimenting with one of the new powers granted to him by the Porter by telling the communicator to speed up the playback- not enough to make everything unintelligible, but fast enough to speed the process up so that it isn't as much of a chore.

It's only after he decides that he has learned enough from this that he sets the communicator a distance away, and sits back, his hands folded together, looking perfectly relaxed. He activates it mentally before he begins speaking, in an almost bored tone.]

How interesting.

A world where the USSR never collapsed. Technology able to bring people from other, different worlds.

And here we are, so many of us now granted abilities we didn't have in our own worlds, with the option of doing things with them.

The decision of what to do in our hands. Do we play along with this government- continue to abide by our own loyalties in the case of those of us who were Americans in our own worlds- and their expectations of what we will do for them in exchange for a basic standard of living, or do we deride it and not accept their assistance, and not assist them in turn? Or do we take some middle position, accept their aid while criticizing them at every turn?

What a fascinating conundrum it must be for those who think about it, particularly over the political aspects, with the presence of elected ambassadors. Even a candidate for the Senate.

It's an interesting scenario where power is concerned, isn't it?

[Welcome, imPorts, to a face a sight less pretty than the shounen heroes and superheroes you've grown accustomed to. Instead of a bright, youthful face, you get the dour face of a man who has comfortably hit middle age, skin pale, nose hooked, and brows furrowed behind those thick rimmed glasses of his.

He clears his throat. Once he speaks, his voice is predictably nasal, and not at all happy.]
All right, so let me get this straight. They drag us in here to be super-heroes - [he uses airquotes for that, as you do] - and they don't even have a proper set of rules?! Look, I'm no stranger to the whole superhero-supervillain, blah blah blah game, but if you don't get held by a set of standards, there's no telling what will happen.

Oh, wait. There is telling what will happen, and I'd tell you, but instead I have a more immediate, pressing complaint. I am a superscientist. And according to this form, I'm supposed to be... a sex therapist? How the hell am I even supposed to begin with what's wrong with--

[Sorry, anyone who wanted to listen to Doc moan and groan any more than he already has, because a bright blue robot enters the frame, crowding Doc half off of his chair, beeping wildly and flailing his limbs, one of them knocking Doc's glasses off.]

Helper, no, Helper, down. You're not helping! No! You don't know anything about sex!

[Helper beeps very insistently. Doc stares at the screen.]

Well, apparently Helper's going to do my job for me. Come say hi if you want sex advice from a robot. [Helper thrusts his arms up in the air and lets out a high-pitched, ebullient series of beeps that could be accurately translated to yay!]

Oh, for the love of -- I wasn't being seriou--

[And the video cuts off there.]

Out of curiosity, I am wondering if anyone who's moved around here could offer me some advice: While Heropa is a fine, sunny place, I'm finding it might be, at least for me, a lovelier place to visit than to dwell.

[ Do you know who hates the Summer in the deep south? People who wear suits and also walk just about everywhere. ]

Bearing in mind I've a business to run, I'm attempting to weigh my options with regard to picking up and moving further north, or simply attempting to find more convenient accommodations within the city limits. Any advice?

[ A purple armored humanoid is broadcasting from in front of a white wall. That's all that can really be gleaned from the visual of the feed. North has decided that the best way to handle this is to keep as many personal details out of it, so not even his helmet is removed. Anyone who attempts to extrapolate geodata from the feed will find that it is now set to the North Pole. ]

This is Agent North Dakota of... formerly of the UNSC. I think it's a couple hundred years too early for that. Nowadays, I guess you could say I'm from the United States.

I've done some scanning of the Network, and I've found evidence of some of my teammates having been here in the past.

[ Actually, it was Theta who scanned the Network, but North is determined to not immediately mention the little AI. It's worrying that he's found evidence of himself - or someone claiming to be himself - without having any knowledge of the situation.

North has asked Theta to look into it further, comparing the archived videos of that "North" and the others with data compiled from their known counterparts, but it seems to be taking an inordinately long time. Theta feels distracted, anxious. That's never a good sign.
]

If there are any active or retired members of the UNSC, please identify yourselves. There are too many reported instances of imPorts disappearing from this universe to assume that you are still present.

[ It would be nice if South was here and their relationship was its old, playfully competitive self once more, but North would settle for having any of the Freelancers. York would be a solid choice. He'd like to know what Delta would make of this. ]
