[He's in a bit of a hurry so he'll make this quick:]

When someone drinks too much, what do people do to help them feel better? What's the cure? Sometimes, we'd cook this fish back home that helped out or our elder back home used to do a bunch of mixing with herbs and stuff, but I doubt that's the case here.

Also, this isn't as important, but. What's a Catty Purry?

[ HAH YEAH HE WISHES. ] Not really, just helps keep you awake for awhile longer. Until it wears off and then you're... even more tired.

Sounds like it's a bit more trouble than it's worth. [Especially if the taste isn't worth it.]

Personally, if I'm tired, I just hop on Toothless and go for a ride. The rush of the wind does a pretty good job at keeping me awake.

[ Huh wha. ]

Oh. Right, sorry. [New place, new people. He's not the popular guy he was at home anymore.]

Toothless is my dragon. I'm a dragon trainer back home, and we're pretty much always flying out together. In fact, we're doing that right now.

[Hear that subtle gust of wind rush by. Swoooooosh.]

[ OH MY GAWWDD that is too cool, you've just made Peter's day. ]

You seriously train dragons? [ Seriously? SERIOUSLY?! ] I'm not sure you can get much better than that.

Berk is pretty much the best dragon training village in the world. [Well, the only dragon training village in the world, but just let him brag.]

And Toothless here is the top dragon. Ain't that right, bud?

[Cue a happy grumble from nearby, plenty pleased to hear himself get shown off.]

[ Kid, you are totally allowed to brag, Peter has given you permission x a million. You might not be superman but dragons are still pretty dang cool. ]

And he's... yours? [ Hesitant because some people don't like ownership definitions so. He's being careful. ]

[He may not be superman, but yes, he does have a dragon and he can fly. Kind of.]

Yeah, I'm his trainer. [He's been asked a similar question multiple times, so it isn't offensive.] But really, Toothless is the best friend anyone can ask for. Most dragons end up being that way to the folks back home.

[ It's good enough. Even sans underwear outside of your clothing. ]

Yeah, think I can understand that. Can't really see a dragon wanting to be... a pet. [ Because Peter's a dragon expert???? ] Might take issue to the whole domestication thing.

I mean, people use the term sometimes, but they don't really use it in the same way most people do? Mainly because most animals, dragons included, can be pretty individual about things. They've got their personalities and feelings like people too. So there's a whole level of equality there.

[Could be a true animal rights activist over here.]

[ ... as if he didn't notice the animal activist thing. ]

Can't argue with that. Haven't really had a whole lot of pets, but I had a dog when I was kid. Definitely had his own way of doing things. Might've picked up a few bad habits from me, but he was all I had for awhile. Made all the difference.

Yeah, it really does. [It seems like forever ago, but once upon a time, he felt nothing but loneliness until Toothless came around.]

What about now? It's always better when you have a partner around. Don't have one?

[ How... does one even answer that. Because the answer seems weirdly depressing in his head. Might as well just be honest. ]

Not really, no. But I get by.

[He realizes the way the question might have come off, so he tries to make up for it.]

Hey, uh. Toothless gets kind of grumbly a lot over having to deal with just me for company. You should come join us for a flight sometime.

[ Nah, Peter's fine. It's not like Hiccup was intentionally trying to poke, but the offer is kind of startling. In a good way. Because dragons??? If Peter didn't know what to say before, he's infinitely more lost now because yeah, unexpected much? ]

You're serious? [ This is apparently the question of the day. ]

[Hiccup laughs at the question and shrugs despite not being seen.]

Sure. It's kind of unfair that a lot of people don't get the chance to ride a dragon, so why not? Though it's kind of addicting, so you'd need to be careful of that.

Flying's always addicting.

[ Peter already knows that much. ]
