[When the video clicks on today, Asami is sitting at a desk at what appears to be her work. It's clear that she doesn't usually use a desk, however, as it's clearly not set up to be an office job. But she's grabbing a few things, and she thought it would be best to do this while she has a moment of downtime.]

Hello again, everyone. [She considers saying something about how busy everything was last month, but others have shared that sentiment. Besides, running around with Team Avatar means she's used to it.] I've already ... mentioned something like this before, but I wanted to say that there was a group like the Hornets back in my world. They felt that changes needed to occur, and they went about it in the most violent manner possible. Seeing it again, hearing their rationales, was ... hard for me. [Though the reason why isn't entirely clear, she's not going to go into it. Not here, not publicly like this.]

But what I've learned from extremist groups like that is that we have to look at their pain and their fears and see what we can do. It doesn't mean that what they think is correct. They went about it in the worst way possible. But I do think that we have a responsibility to help make this world better and safer. I'm no hero, and I'm not really interested in that, but I've decided to dedicate myself to bettering this world either through infrastructure or supplying some of the best hovercars available. Admittedly ... I haven't decided yet. [She gives a sheepish smile here.]

Until I do, I'm going to help out with Heropa. The city doesn't look so good right now, and I'm going to be helping out on weekends to try to help set things right. That's something I can start with, anyway. I'd love some help with it, too. Just contact the native citizens who're involved with clean up, and they're willing to put you to work. [Of course, she knows some people will do things independently, which is fine, too. But this is how she's chosen to go about it.]

Other than that, here's to hoping things are better in the future. [It's an empty hope, most likely. The world moves and changes all the time, after all.]

It's something that really does hit close to home. It led to a lot of changes in my life before, so ... I suppose there's some motivation to make it so that no one else has to go through that again.

Yeah. Like... I want to change things for people who aren't necessarily as fortunate as we are. And if we're going to be stuck here, I want to do something about this war.

Do you have any ideas about the war?

Not really. I should, but I only know the basics. Seems weird to me that a war can be called a war when nothing's happening, though.

Sometimes, the actions are happening in a way you least expect. They may be developing weapons to strike against one another—or they may already have them ready.

Yeah. So then, what are they doing? Waiting for the other to move first?

Possibly.

[She considers this for a moment.]

Or it's a war of attrition. They're asking us to be heroes because they know it's only a matter of time when they can ask for our assistance in matters. I've seen that strategy, too.

Yeah, because heroes always feel obligated to help. But a war... I'm not interested in killing.

No, and two sides pitted against one another isn't always the best to bring balance to any world.

No. It's more a way to pull it apart, generally.

But understanding why they may need to be in conflict may help in achieving that balance. Sometimes balance can only come after necessary conflict.

Yeah, that's true. It makes me wonder... what to do.

It may be a matter of learning about the conflict, and finding a means to help as much as we can.

That's what my friends and I did back home, at any rate. Sometimes coming in the middle of things is necessary.

Sounds like it. Guess starting closer to home like this is the best thing to do, though.

Most likely. And I don't know that we can really go ask the other side what they think of us.

They'd probably be suspicious.

Heh, yeah. Like... we'd look like we were spying. I think even defectors look like that, in the beginning.

Exactly. And I don't want to get in too much trouble before we know what we're looking at.

No, you're right. First I think we should get what information we can from the government here, before anything else. Federal, I guess, since we're all in different states.

Right. Though I may need a crash course in the government first. The politics really differ in this world.

Really? I don't know much about that kinda stuff. The most I know is what I learned from my friend Kairi, cause she's the mayor's daughter back home.

Yeah, we have democracy, but it's still new. And we practice it differently. [Her shoulders roll back.] We can probably focus on learning together. Well, assuming you learn quickly.

I don't mind, if you're interested. I'm curious to learn about this stuff. And... yeah, I learn fairly quickly, I guess. Never really thought about it.

Then I'll be sure to let you know what I dig up. And you do the same, all right?

Yeah, of course. Maybe we should hit the library.
