Why does no one consider that the government are lying to us? There have been some who've talked about it, yeah, but no one really seriously thinks about it. But we know they've got the ability to change memories, haven't they? They can make people forget their lives here, or at least SOMEONE can. So why do we all think they haven't just done that? There's never been a group of people in power who didn't love to see their populace docile and harmless and quiet. They've got every reason to alter our memories and our thoughts so that we're nice and obedient to them.

Why are we swallowing what they tell us? Why aren't we questioning them? Why aren't we challenging them? We've got the power to make them scared, so why aren't we? We're powerful, and we'll fight for what's right if we've got the chance, so why AREN'T we doing that? We've got to organize. We've got to make change.

They seem all right here on the surface, don't they? But they only seem that way because WE'RE the favored ones. WE'RE the ones they're desperate to curry favor with. Because they want us to win their idiot war for them. But we can't just accept that. We have to question what they must be doing to ensure we do what they want.

[ it's not even just this post, but having seen too many of them in this vein by now to really want to hold back. this feels juvenile - like venting and lashing out - and given recent events? that might even make more sense than usual. people aren't the right ages. it's visible all over.

If you're set on making change, start by owning it. This continuing trend of people using anonymity to claim their "righteous" views is weak and lazy... in every single case it's been used, it has done nothing. In every poor attempt at follow-up, it has done nothing.

You're simple enough to use the government network to say the same thing that's been said here before, to no effect. You're selfish enough to be blind to what others are doing... to put words in their mouths, and make assumptions about their actions. And you're emotional enough to think that venting in public where you don't need to be held responsible for what you say will do anything except illustrate that yet another imPort is feeling frustrated, and lacks the courage to do the work necessary to stand up for what they claim to believe in.

Focus. Face reality. Deal with the world we're actually in. Then find the way to your change, and hope to hell you don't set the world to burning while you're chasing down your idealized view of what is right and belonging to the powerful and the "just" in somebody else's world.
