[There is a moment, and a click, and there is a camera that tilts from one side to another. Clearly whoever is manning the device isn't sure how it works.
There's a voice, then, a girl's voice, young and soft, and questioning, but it's not addressing the device, not yet.]
Like this?
Oh, I see, yes, thank you so very much-
[And then the camera stops moving, and settles on a girl; she's a teenager, the kind of girl who looks like she smiles often, and she does now. She's wearing a very fancy dress, the kind one sees in renaissance fairs. On the queen.]
Hello? Oh, hello!
Yes, is this right, I just speak-oh, this is magic indeed, I think!
[And someone off screen laughs, but Lucy is smiling at the camera, equally amused.]
Hello! I've been told, if I seek to make friends, and find those who may know of my country, I should speak into this queer magic box. I would also like to know how I could find a way back to my home? It's terribly important that I return before the High King think I am kidnapped, for that would be troublesome for many of the surrounding kingdoms. And I would not like it, on the besides, if my royal brother should think that I would be so foolhardy as to allow anyone to kidnap me! I am better than that, I should think, than to allow such a thing.
I would welcome any help, or any who might extend a hand of friendship towards me in this hour, please.

[ He feels like he should ask her about the whole High King thing, but at the same time he's not entirely sure he wants to know. What he settles for doing is just giving Lucy a small smile before he continues. ]
And I think your brother would be too busy worrying to think that you were foolish enough to get kidnapped even if foolishness doesn't really enter that equation in the first place.
video.
[Sigh. She looks a little bit long suffering, but it doesn't last before she's tilting her lips in a fond kind of smile.]
My royal brother has the miraculous ability to think both those at once. It's perplexing and altogether vexing, when he's in a state like that.
perma-video all the way.
[ He laughs a little at her description of her brother. ]
It may just be in his brother contract that all brothers have to abide by when they have siblings. And it's made even worse because you guys are royalty and he's the High King and royalty does tend to get kidnapped.

[She always adds that if you like, because so many in Narnia truly do prefer titles, for all that Lucy is not so formal.]
Oh, but it has been many years since any of us were so captured! And yet, my royal brother does worry, over me in particular, as I am the youngest. Although it is Edmund who was last seized, and by his own folly.
[A pause, like maybe she's a little embarrassed.]
Please, if he should appear here, do not tell him I spoke thusly of him.
no subject
[ He appreciates it Lucy, formal titles aren't exactly common and he knows he'd probably still call you Lucy on accident. ]
And Edmund's— younger than the High king brother, right? If that's the case, it's definitely the older brother contract. King or not he'd probably do it.
[ Barry mimes zipping his lips, locking them and throwing away the key. ]
Your secret is definitely safe with me. If I see him and he asks, you gave me a glowing review of him and his lack of folly.

[That's Lucy - everyone is a friend, ten minutes in.]
Yes, my apologies, there is Peter, the High King, then Susan, then Edmund, and then myself. And I am in your debt, then, for you have done me a great service.

[ Fistbump of the easy friend making types, Lucy. Fistbump. ]
It's not that big of a deal. There's no need to be in my debt. But that makes you the youngest out of all of them. Is it just Peter who does it? The— worrying about kidnapping and foolishness, I mean.

[There's a pause. He's her favorite, and she likes to imagine that she is his.]
It is that way, I think, with the youngest and the eldest.
Tell me, what think you of this place?
no subject
[ Because Iris isn't sister even if they grew up in the same house. ]
It's— different. I come from a place like it but there's these little details that are different enough that I end up knowing it's definitely not what I'm used to. The superpowers part is pretty cool though, because who hasn't wanted to have powers when they were younger? It does have some issues with things happening, but that's pretty true when it comes to life normally.
no subject
[Lucy doesn't, really.]
I do not if I ever considered being so talented with magic, or powers, but I can see now how helpful they can be. I'm told I may heal, which is very good indeed, as in Narnia I was charged with a cordial that could heal many ills, but I have it not with me.
And you? What have you been gifted with? Or is that rude to ask?
no subject
I think you're one of the first people I've met who hadn't considered it. Even the people who come from worlds like mine— [ That's a bad example. ] Usually thought about it at least once. But healing's pretty useful. Can you just use it on yourself or is it something you can use for other people?
[ He pauses, not entirely sure how to answer it shows in the way he ends up rubbing the back of his neck. ] It's not that rude. Some people probably wouldn't answer but— superspeed. Running really fast basically. I used to run a lot when I was younger, guess this place thought it was funny.

I do wish that my powers were so thoughtful with what I wish to be, so that I may have, oh, I know not - perhaps perfect aim, as my sister seems to be gifted with, or mastery of the blade so that my brothers may never say things such as you should not fight this duel, for you are just a girl.
no subject
[ Thing. It's called an event, Barry. Not a thing ]
Or all three to prove that being the baby doesn't mean you're any weaker than them? Healing's still more important than those, though. Because it fixes what all those do. You don't hurt things, you heal things.

[She's blushing, though-]
It was not considered seemly, although often my skirts were muddied and torn from running or riding, so I do not see why everyone was so burdened with propriety.
I do like to help people.
no subject
[ Oh no, Lucy, don't blush. Oh no. ]
It's probably just ingrained in them. Kind of like how people have those things that they do that can be really stupid, but they've just started to do them out of habit and eventually they can't break them.
See? It knew what'd be good for you.

You do me credit. If there is such a pamphlet that would explain my position, I would write it with such passion that my royal sister would have no choice but to concede me to trousers.

And probably saving on the laundry issues that come with the dress.
