[This is - not particularly a post that Max wants to make, but it's the quickest way to get her offer across, and the quicker they get to work, the better.]

I will keep this brief, as we are all rather busy right now, however I hope I may be of some use to anyone amongst us with scientific expertise.

My body has been infected with the virus that was brought into this world, but I am able to keep it from effecting my behavior, and from spreading to others. I believe this may allow a more compliant test subject than has been available until now, for those attempting to create a treatment or vaccination.

I've quarantined myself in my own apartment to avoid putting an extra body in the hospital, but if anyone requires my assistance for studying the virus, contact me here.

Everyone else, please listen to the authorities and stay safe.

[She hopes people don't ask too many questions about how she can keep the virus under control, because she hates talking about her powers.]

It's uncomfortable, but hardly intolerable. Fortunately mediation doesn't require much balance.

[And she's spending 90% of her time meditating to try to keep herself steady.

Are you sure you'll be okay? This sounds like it's going to get ugly.

[ It's rare for Kate to feel somewhat helpless in a situation, but this is it. ]

If it does get too much for me control, I plan to give the doctors permission to sedate me through whatever means necessary.

[That's what Kate is asking, right?]

I'll hope it doesn't come to that.

What is there to be worried about, so long as I harm no one?

I think you know what I mean.

I have faith in the people here to find a solution.

[ The fact they've been able to tackle similar problems in the past is something that helps ease some of her concerns. Not entirely as she'll always lean toward the more paranoid side, but it's enough. ]

Just look out for yourself, too. There's no telling how this will play out.

I've survived worse than a little plague.

[She makes it sound like a joke, trying to reassure Kate so she doesn't worry.]

"Plague" is not a reassuring word.

[ She pauses, running a hand through her hair. ]

I know we don't really know each other, but if you need something...

At least I didn't go for "apocalypse".

[looks at Tara again]

The offer is appreciated, but I'm sure I'll be fine.

I really hope so, Max. If your condition changes for the worse, let a doctor or one of the imPort healers know.

Of course, the last thing I want is to put others at harm. Pretending I'm coping when I'm not would be dangerous.

[ She nods. ]

I hope this thing can be contained, too.

[ Has it left Heropa? Nobody seems to have an answer. ]

Instantaneous travel may make that quite difficult, unfortunately.

You would think some people would know not to cross state lines without getting themselves checked first.

It seems as though the warning came too late, some of us could have traveled before even knowing what we were carrying.

[ She chews on her lip. ]

There has to be something... magic of some kind that an imPort can use to cure others.

Unless they can cure everyone infected at once, which seems unlikely considering the power that would require, it would be a bandaid at best.

Maybe to stall the symptoms... [ Kate runs a hand through her hair, sighing aloud. ] This is why I'm not a doctor.

Neither am I, but I do think it would be a good idea to cure those in the later stages with magic, if it can be done. We don't want to lose anyone.

I hope the medics are already on that.

A friend of mine works at a local clinic. I can get in touch with him.

They may not be, depending on what they're used to. Getting in touch with them is a good idea.

[Max will leave that to Kate and anyone else, since right now she isn't in the mood for too many conversations.]
