Third Strike - Video

[kendo_taisho]

[Heiji's in his room, which hardly looks like your average teenager's room. There's very little stuff in it and it's neat and organized. The biggest mess is a folder of papers on the bed behind him.

The teen himself looks a little worse for wear. There's a bandage on his cheek and the hint of bandaging wrapped around his arms under his sleeves, and he looks incredibly tired like he's been pulling constant all nighters for the past week.

He seems to be distinctly uncomfortable, but trying to hide it as he straightens the camera and addresses the community.]

Hey, anyone out there good with animals? Rescued a dog a couple weeks ago, an' they said he was gonna be fine, but I wanted t'make sure.

[There's a small crash as something off camera...peeps? Heiji looks just a little embarrassed.]

An'...I got another problem. I don't know what t'do with it!

[He moves the camera to where the lamp on his desk had been knocked over by...a chick. The size of an infant. It chirps at him again and then, oh so casually, rolls the lamp the rest of the way off the desk. There's a bit of horrified silence, and then a quiet 'help', before the video ends.]

Oh-! [ She leans towards the desk, so the chick won't fall right to floor. It plops safety onto the closer surface.

With the dog underneath her, she doesn't take notice if it growing curious over the biscuit yet. ]

Have you named them?

No. [Disgruntled sour look at the chick.] Though I suppose 'oni' is appropriate. [It is a little demon, after all.]

As for th' dog...I prolly should. Been goin' 'hey boy' a lot. Not much've name. After first I didn't even know if I was keepin' 'im, but no one called for 'im. [One theory had been that he belonged to the dead guy, or maybe the other one they saved, but this long after the fire and it was pretty much either his or whoever wanted him.

He felt responsible now, though. Didn't want to just take the poor thing to a shelter. He'd been through enough.]

[honeyxlemon]

No, it's just a little baby! [ She brings it up to her cheek and gives it a nuzzle. ] ¿Verdad?

[ After peering down at the dog, she smiles to see that his nose is poking at the treat. Poor pup. It's nice that Heiji is considering keeping him. ]

I think it would be a good idea to name him.

[Watches it warily as she cuddles it, in case it decides to try and eat her or something. ...okay, even he can admit he's being dramatic, but he can't trust the thing. It's evil.]

Yeah, I'll think've one. Eventually. Gotta make sure he's okay first.

I know he'll be okay if he's under your care. [ And she means that. She's not just saying that to be polite. ]

[He might turn a little red at that, shuffling his feet and rubbing one hand along the opposite arm.

Heiji opens his mouth to reply, when the chick frantically peeps and makes an attempt to bounce right at Heiji's face. He catches it to keep it from crashing tragically to the floor, expression just shy of thunderous.]

[ Honey moves her body forward as if about to reach out for the chick itself when Heiji manages to catch it. As the brief moment of panic quickly fades, she cannot help but laugh at his expression. ]

I think it likes you.

Likes t'torture me. [He pouts at it. Why won't anyone believe him that this thing is a menace?]
